    who cares.
no one knows what would happen if david robinson didnt have tim duncan, shaq didnt have kobe, kobe didnt have shaq, jordan didnt have pippen, jordan didnt have rodman, etc.
lebron is just better than kobe in everyway.

LeBron has made it to 3 finals. Don't forget when he carried Cleveland who's second best player was Larry Hughes to the finals (Pistons series...?).

You're comparing players who had different roles when entering the league

LeBron was the STARTING player and a STAR from day one. He been averaging 40+ minutes a game his whole career while Kobe was on the bench for 2 years. Then wen he did start he wasn't even the primary target on the offensive end, Shaq was. Kobe has averaged less minutes than LeBron his whole career and LeBron had a 2 year head start on kobe (in a starting role) so comparing them at 28 years old is pointless..... I've seen these numbers before and I don't believe them for one second. And its funny cuz LeBron averaged more minutes (if it wasn't for last years lockout) and had 2 years of starting over Kobe and yet Kobe and Lebron's stats are nearly identical.... Hahah Who really is better?? The player who had to prove himself in the league?? Or the player who everyone knew was gonna be a star?? Lebron is taller and plays SF and PF so rebounding is already an advantage. Passing, LeBron does it. Kobe isn't looking to pass but when he does I guarantee you he is good at it. Scoring, Kobe works and has more skill. Lebron is fast and big (no homo) so he has a BIG advantage down low. Efficiency, well of course a guy who takes fewer shots and FLOPS his way to the free throw line to score is gonna be more efficient than a guy who ain't afraid to shoot the ball. The way Kobe scores is something people have come accustom to but they seem to forget how difficult his shots really are. Lebron is great don't get wrong but Kobe has always been called a MJ impersonator, a rapist, a sidekick, and etc. his whole career. Kobe has been hated for so many years I forgot when the time someone said something nice about him. Kobe's rookie and sophomore year are really what people don't acknowledge in these stats. Kobe went from bench warmer to superstar while LeBron started off as a superstar so I have to say these stats are misleading and inaccurate.

    Its official.

    LeBron has surpassed Kobe.

    4 MVPs vs 1 MVP
2 Final MVPs vs 2 Final MVPs

Kobe 5 rings and Lebron 2 rings. :)

There's no doubt that Lebron is on his way to surpassing Kobe in the "greatest of all time" conversation, but what makes Kobe great is his longevity and not his individual stats from year to year. Unless Lebron totally breaks down like Allen Iverson or TMac, I'm sure he will be better than Kobe in the end, but Kobe still has done it longer and, just like Duncan, it's unbelievable the level of play he was at in his 17th season this past season.

Kobe also took longer to get playing time in his first two seasons. He was the first guard to come straight out of high school. Because Kobe turned out the way he did, it opened the door for Lebron to get playing time right off the bat vs the traditional ways of bringing him in slowly.

Oh yeah, and Kobe was limited on playing time in his early years because the Lakers had Eddie Jones at SG. So the first 3 years of his career were really light. That said, I think Kobe doesn't have as much mileage as it seems for that very reason. He didn't play a full load earlier in his career. But then he played several long seasons after that being that they were competing for titles for the majority of his career.

Using weak stats to argue which great is better from different eras is pointless. Skill is the only thing i care about. Put vince carter on those bulls teams in his prime and i guarantee he gets at least 5 rings. His stats would be inflated because if he gets doubled he has good teammates who can score.

The only stats that matter are all time steals, rebounds, blocks, and turnovers (which lebron is currently 42nd in at age 28). You cant count assists because what if you were stuck on crappy teams your entire career.

You cant count scoring because its much easier in this era which favors lebron and wade's play style heavily.

So really let's just discredit everything LeBron has done because he plays in a weak era.

Forget Kobe. He isn't even in the conversation.

Let's take a look at Lebron v MJ in their first 10 seasons. Just some food for thought. Lebron is nowhere near MJ level so relax.

    Jordan Lebron

    Age 32 28
    MVP's 3 4
    Finals MVP 3 2
    Rings 3 2
    Conf Titles 3 4
    Points 22k 21k
    Blocks 697 649
    Steals 1845 1323
    Assists 4025 5302

Kobe played with Shaq when he was at his peak dominating the game. but Kobe still managed to put good numbers.

Kobe is more clutch too. LeBron has more off nights. Kobe always plays hard even during allstar games.

I'd build a team with Kobe.

Lebron has more off nights? Not sure I'd agree with that.

Why would it be hard to put up good numbers going 1-1 every night playing alongside Shaq?

Myth. We just saw LeBron dominate G7 and hit the clinching shot in the final minute. We saw Kobe go 6-24 in the same situation.

Lmao. He still has a few years to pass Kobe imo, but it is inevitable. He has no shot at MJ though. That ship sailed long ago.

*MJ actually turned 29 in Feb. 1992, LeBron will turn 29 in December.

if your comparing them by age, lebron had 2-3 years of pro experience in the NBA, that is a big advantage especially mentally. but even then MJ looks slightly better stats wise

but thats just stats, if people actually watched jordan played theres is no doubt jordan was the better and more skillful player. MJ's decision making, IQ, foot-work, fundamentals were off the charts...Lebron James is just a phsyical beast(Literally) big, strong, fast and athletic with good vision. blessed with size and athleticism
