Wasn't following this thread but it's ironic imo that Modelo overtakes Bud Light because a Lot of the Bud Light critics are probably also not happy with the growing Hispanic population. I like Modelo, never really been a Bud Light guy, but it's surprising that Modelo takes the top spot even though I see Hispanics buying a lot of Modelo to the point that I noticed it before this but I really only see Hispanics buying it

Have you tried Estrella Jalisco? I like it as well but it's not as easy to find.

Cuomo fundraises with Finger Lakes billionaires as austerity cuts drive upstate NY cities towards crisis

So it's primarily conservatives boycotting correct? And instead they're supporting Modelo, which is owned by Constellation Brands, at least as far as sales go in the United States. However, outside U.S. sales of Modelo and Corona are owned by AB-InBev, which is just Anheuser-Busch, and AB owns Bud Light and Modelo outside the U.S. And Constellation Brands are primarily owned by the Sands Brothers. And the Sands Brothers donate to the Democratic Party. So through boycotting, conservatives are now funding billionaires that support the DNC. Good job. To be fair, most billionaires, to cover their hedges, tend to donate to both parties equally in order to garner favors regardless of whoever is currently elected into office. That said, it would seem it's really difficult to boycott billionaires that operate a monopoly on the liquor and cannabis marketplace.

Perhaps the best way to boycott is to give that liver of yours a break and stick with this.

What says you governor of Texas?

Greg Abbott has cut required water breaks for Texas construction workers and labor advocates say it could kill them

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill Tuesday that eliminated ordinances across the state requiring water breaks for construction workers — all while a record-setting heat wave sweeps the state.

The law, which takes effect September 1, particularly impacts ordinances in Austin and Dallas that mandate construction employees take at least ten minutes every four hours to drink water and cool off, according to the Texas Tribune. Supporters of the bill have said the intent was to eliminate local regulations in favor of statewide policies, the Huffington Post reported.

Meanwhile, James Dixon — the president of the NAACP Houston — condemned the bill, according to the local-news outlet KHOU 11.

"These bills are a threat to democracy," he told the outlet. "They're a threat to civil rights and human rights."

Ana Gonzalez, the deputy director of policy and politics at the Texas AFL-CIO, a federation of labor unions, told the Texas Tribune that the bill may prove fatal for construction workers.

"We are talking about a human right," Gonzalez said. "We will see more deaths, especially in Texas' high temperatures."

Texas has the highest rate of heat-related workplace deaths, the Texas Tribune reported.

This summer will prove especially brutal, with temperatures in southern Texas hitting record highs on Thursday and Friday. Heat indexes across the region are reaching the 120s, with forecasts predicting temperatures and humidity to continue peaking through at least June 25, the Washington Post reported.

Meanwhile, heat-related safety measures are a key point of contention for industries across the nation this summer.

The Teamsters Union reached a tentative agreement last week with UPS on negotiations to install air conditioning in all delivery vans, the insides of which the union has said can reach over 120 degrees, CNN reported.

As someone who has worked on construction sites this is ridiculous pandering. Contractors aren't out there cracking the whip trying to speed up projects by fighting workers taking water breaks

I guarantee a lot of these Republican business owners in businesses like this care about all safety issues and didn't mind the required breaks

Yet Abbot will probably win his next election

It just strikes me as cruel to even think of water breaks as disruptive. The hazard vest adds a few degrees temperature outside and if you're around dark road asphalt, that's another 10 degrees on top of the posted temperature for the day and it's coming up from the ground. It's cruel to think this type of legislation is what is considered effective governance on behalf of Texans' best interests.

A person with the last name Ortega being a celebrity was woke 10 years ago.

    Maybe that's progress?
