I don't think the Rockets are going to make any decision based on interviews. They are going to look at the whole body of work.

Don’t you think Rox need to keep their real choice secret, play hard to get, and wait for Cavs to call first, if they expect an asset in return. Did Toronto even get anything (other than less salary) by swapping one spot down to trade Antawn Jamison for Vince Carter?

The GLeague website. Those roster listings are heights from league measurements. However, everyone is at an inch mark (no half/quarter inches), so I must assume there is rounding.

once NBA started requiring consistency in measurements taken each year, they included the unsigned GLeague players, bc NBA teams are scouting the GLeague.

Even a sandwich and a couple tissue rolls are better than nothing is what I'm saying.

There's only 2 choices here Green or Mobley. Mobley is rated higher in majority of mocks and given Okoro and Garland (whom Cavs are very happy with) they would prob like Mobley over yet another guard. If they like Green they can talk to Cavs about swapping down. What if Cavs dont call? Playing hard to get doesnt make any sense to me just lay down your cards and tell them you're talking Mobley unless they give you something in return. Better yet if Cavs serious about making the playoffs I'd offer Wood, 23, 24 and Nets pick next year for no 3 and get both.

Even if its just a 2nd rounder next year or w/e thats still better than nothing. Thats the problem with Patrick Williams nobody else was taking him at 4rth the Bulls couldve gone down to 8th and he would still be there.

I seriously doubt we get anything but cash and less salary by swapping down one slot (which was the Carter/Jamison swap), especially if they’ve sussed out we prefer Green. And Grunwald even fooled GSW into believing he wanted Jamison, and floated a rumor of another swap further down. GSW lusted over Jamison, and Grunwald still only got cash.

not sure who called who first. The trade was secretly agreed b4 the first 3 picks happened.

but you’re right … Tilman definitely believes cash is better than nothing, and Stone could claim he paid for his own salary in one trade.

I said in the original post that "this video breakdown makes him look like Kobe" and I can see how that is confusing, but what I meant was his analysis of the plays reminds me of those Kobe breakdowns he'd do in a video session after he retired. Kobe just noticed stuff I didn't and Jalen Green does too.

I don't know if the play on the court by Jalen reminds me of Kobe. Maybe with all the dunking, but really I just meant his brain seems similar to Kobe's. Your brain leads and your body follows though.

Differences in them that won't change:

Kobe was 6'4 3/4" without shoes. He had a 6'11" wingspan and a standing reach of 8'9" at 212 pounds.
Jalen is 6'5 without shoes, 6'7.5" wingspan, 8'5" standing reach and only 172 pounds.

That extra length on Kobe's arms do matter.

    Agreed. Wingspan matters.

Plus Kobe always took pride in his defense, especially early on in his career.

Oh I do get the Kobe comp! Mentality wise, the style of his game, it is very Mamba like. Kobe wanted to be a star, we knew it right when he came into the NBA. He didn't want to play in Charlotte, he wanted LA. He wanted to be a big star and I feel like Green is the same way.

He has that going for him and I think that ambition he has to be great is very enticing.

I'm team Mobley but it's like 51-49 lol. It's that close for me. I'll be ecstatic if we draft either one I just hope the Rockets don't do something unbelievably stupid like trade the pick for some veteran all-star. Not that I'm expecting them to do so but yeah...

Green has T Rex arms and Mobley has Go Go Gadget arms on an emaciated framed.

T Rex arms on a human are actually quite impressive.

It matters but you also don't want to get too caught up in it. Green's wingspan is just a little shorter than Booker's and is longer than Jamal Murray's.

I'm not saying your wrong (I dislike everybody comparing everybody in the top 5 to HOFers, even though I'm guilty of it too), but come on man don't post a high school game 20 years ago in comparison to the 2021 G-League

Neither are defensive savants like Kobe or MJ.

I posted the game because it shows how Kobe played as a senior and everything he did even without the ball. It’s not a talent for talent comparison but showing the style of play they had and how very different they are.

Agreed that the wingspan limits his upside on that end. But he could ultimately still be a top 5 scorer and an average-ish or maybe a little better defender with his wingspan and other physical attributes.

It's a factor but if the FO feels pretty confident the offense is going to be there I'd much rather gamble that way vs. gambling on something like Scottie Barnes learning how to shoot.
