http://www.comicpalooza.com/ I'm not big into comics, but I think my son might like this. Anyone gone before? Is it just one large freak show that gives people a reason to dress like their favorite characters (including scantily clad females)?
they aren't freaks anymore than someone who dresses up for halloween. you can enjoy it too without using your son as an excuse to go.
If I didn't have plans I would consider it. Too bad they don't have Tekken or Smash Bros at their game tourney
That website isn't very helpful. Are the SHIELD people doing a panel? And if so, when? Do I have to register for the panel or can I just show up?
I meant freak in a nice, endearing way, although I'm guessing there are some real freaks there. My son is not an excuse to go. I'm sure he would get a kick out of it. He doesn't know I'm taking him, we are just going to show up and I'm going to surprise him.
Driving down with the wife on Saturday morning. We love going to these things, well probably me more than my other half. We've gone to this one a few a times but they aren't being very helpful with info this year, not sure what the deal is.
I am going with my son and fam. Went last year with my son. It is fun and a different thing to do than the everyday . some folx are dressed up . . . . Gonna try to see Lando . .er. . . Billy Dee Williams this year I have to work Saturday or I would make it to see Nichelle Nichols Rocket River
I'll be there, got a 4 day pass, going Friday evening just to see how it is, then prepare for Sat/Sun Got my photo op passes for Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, Arianny, and Britney First time going to one of these, pretty excited just to experience some type of convention
You are correct. The website is poorly organized and programming was just put up maybe a day or two ago. Here is the link. http://www.comicpalooza.com/convention/programming/ The SHIELD actors are doing their panel at 1:45p on Saturday.
Yes, backpacks are allowed. If you are going to stay for the whole day, I'd recommend taking water and snacks to avoid paying convention center prices...
fwiw, is it just me, or is the price for photo ops and autographs are not that bad? When I got my photo op pre-sales, it was about $55 for Nash/Hart/UFC Girls total, then I checked the Tristar Show at the end of the month, the only one I had interest in getting a pic with is with Hakeem and he was charging a whopping $119 for a 5x7, not even with your own camera. I heard Stan Lee was charging over $100 last week at Dallas Comic Con
Sports shows vs comic cons prices are night and day. Sports shows are insanely overpriced when compared to even the high end of the comic shows. That sounds about right for Lee, his prices keep going up every year....
