It's a side show really whether Trump thought he lost or not. The fact is he lost. Many members of his administration including his AG told him he lost and not because of fraud. Whether he believes that or not once he exhausted his legal challenges legally he could do nothing more.

The problem is pushing for non-legal means to overturn the election and to push for changes in election laws and policies including that state officials and legislatures could not certify races just because they believe so. That is where the problem is.

 

It's simple. Trump was a terrible President. He is a grifter who rather than uplift people sought to debase and divide. Many people didn't like Reagan's policies or thought he was too hard with talk about "Evil Empire" but he also talked about America as a "Shining City on the Hill" and about the promise of America. Trump talked about "American Carnage".

people can downplay and ignore this all they want, ignoring history and multiple lessons of how a democracy transforms into fascism (through democratic means!)

 

There are two choices.

1. Trump mentioned that he lost to Biden, and also ordered his Chief of Staff to do something about it because he knew he lost especially after receiving the information from his own staff that the rumors of fraudulent ballots weren't accurate.

2. Trump repeatedly talked about how he lost and ordered his chief of staff to do something about it, and was told that he lost his own staff and cabinet, but only ordered his chief of staff to do something and talked about it while watching Biden not because he knew it to be true, but because he felt sorry of himself so started saying those things as a result of that.

 

You are being "owned" by a few extremists on the Right while the Marxist playbook is being executed right in front of you. Look at culture. Look at education. Look at government control. As the Wicked Witch of the West exclaims "What a world..."

 

Sure, Trump wished to find a way. Do you think his chief stayed up all night filling out ballots which he then planned to drive around the country being found.

Keep hating on Trump if it does something for you. I prefer to move on. He's a bit like the "Knight Who Says Ni"-- desperately refusing to quit. That's his deal but it's not bringing America down as the hand-wringers want to claim over and over just to do political damage. That's what's not good for America.

That's a clever reversal of meaning but the American Carnage of which Trump spoke was this: "an America overrun by undocumented immigrants, “poverty in our inner cities,” “rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation” and “crime and gang and drugs.”

The real carnage was the first summer of Biden's presidency in 2020 when 500+ riots were allowed to proceed causing Billions in damage and many, many more deaths.

 

I only care for justice and our democracy. What his Chief of staff did so was support things such as trying to get Pence to put forward fake electors, and support trying to delay the legitimate certification.

 

Biden didn't become President until 2021. That was Trump's summer of 2020.

There is a process for delaying certification. There is a process for sending the election back to the US Congress-- as the representatives thought to be closest to the will of the people and places they represent..

The states voted and certified the official electors. Trump and others planned to submit fake electors not certified to Pence. The Republican Senator actually tried to hand the fake ones to Pence.

The process for delaying certification is not to encourage riot at the capitol building.

Local GOP groups did put forward their own slates of electors in violation of state elections. In Michigan they tried to enter the state house and weren’t allowed to.

 

Yes saw that after I posted. I know the Democratic governor Minnesota did call out the National Guard it did take him. A couple of days but mass deployment isn’t easy.

Also the national guard and state police were criticized for being too heavy handed.

 

That is the black knight that was refusing to quit despite being dismembered. The Knights Who Say Ni were just knights (who initially said ni) who offered help in exchange for a number of bizarre fetch quests.
