I'm not saying for sure that he's in trouble, I'm just pointing out that there are reports that he had classified information in his memos and if true it could land him in a lot of hot water for a host of reasons, even if those weren't the memos he leaked....and if they were, he'd be in even more trouble potentially. The issue is that those documents have been deemed to have been government property meaning that he had no right to hold on to that sensitive government property after his employment was terminated....and certainly no right to share that kind of documents with anyone. At the very least, this will lead to an investigation into the issue. At the very least, it's something more tangible than the vague "Russia" nonsense.
My understanding is that Comey's OFFICIAL memo's COULD HAVE contained markings that are significant for identifying classified information. The FBI holds those memos. What Comey gave his friend is unclear. Did he give his friend THE ACTUAL MEMOS, or did he summarize the memos in a separate unclassified document I don't know nor do any of you guys. What I will say is that someone of his stature that was so incredibly meticulous with his memo's and other classified information that he withheld in his hearings that you'd think he would know the basics of the proper way to disclose classified information to his friend who would go public with the fact that he had memos. His friend didn't have to have the memos to communicate that there WERE memos. Also he testified that he did not disclose classified information. If he was dumb enough to disclose those memos in a way that gave those classified markings to his friend, he's going to jail likely so I just have to believe he's not that dumb. ............ Meanwhile... should I remind everyone here that a certain someone disclosed classified information TO THE RUSSIANS???

LOL so many people get fooled by this, saying that something had no classified markings isn't the same thing as the document not containing classified information. If we'll remember, that was Hillary's initial lie. I would hope Comey would be smart enough to not have any classified information in the memo or memos that he leaked to his friend, but that's not the only concern here, those documents were government property that he had no business retaining and even less business sending to others.
