If you think that the Russia investigations and other self inflicted screw ups are helping Trump; I couldn't disagree more. He is wallowing in a 35% approval rating and has gotten very little done, he hasn't even filled most of his vacancies yet.

Ever since the absurd impeachment of Clinton, the policy of both parties has been to neuter the President of the opposition party at all costs. It isn't good for the country, but was effective against Obama and thus far has been spectacularly successful against Trump.

It doesn't look like the Fox News team are all on the same page that Trump did well today:

I don't blame them. Speakers of the house that were against clinton were having sex escapades of their own. just shows the hypocrisy. If trump was a Dem, trust me, no way would the gop be waving their hands like "everything is ok." They would probably be asking for the death penalty since prancing around with comrades has always been viewed as an almighty sin by the right.

Well this certainly fanned the flames of obstruction of justice just not where everyone expected. They should start an immediate investigation into Lynch. As for Trump, he pretty much let him off the hook completely. Only people with an agenda will still think Trump did anything illegal. To date there has been nothing to this and we still have nothing. Perhaps the special investigator will find something but I think that is a liberal pipe dream.

What an honest man, if he was President, none of this would be coming up. He is a republican BTW - and that is the type of conservative leadership they need to recover from the crap stain that is Donald Trump.

Clearly Trump is guilty of obstruction, and of treasonous behavior with Russia and his entire family is dirty.

Impeach him, put him on trial and let the chips fall where they may.

And BTW - Trump is a liar, a proven liar, and lies about pretty much everything including whether he lies.....

    Hahahahahahahahaha

Lynch asked comey to call an investigation something else but didn't ask him to stop it and that equals obstruction in your mind.

Trump asks him to outright stop one and that doesn't mean anything to you.

    Partisans. Partisans everywhere!

In all seriousness if I were Trump I would say I knew all these investigations were leading nowhere and I just wanted to let my staff get to governing

This fake allusion to "both parties" violating norms and being equally obstructionist is a lot worse for the country.

At every step of the way for the past few decades, the side that escalates and that transgresses and that is geared to obstruct and destroy rather than create is predominantly one side...and it isn't even close.

This isn't a partisan view it's an empirically demonstrable fact. North Carolina, voter suppression, the alt right, the capitulation to Russian interests, rejection of science, the embrace of neo Nazi and klan violence, the flaccid acceptance of a bankrupt, criminal, laughably inept gang in the white house - these are not bipartisan phemomena.

    All hail trump!

I don't like guy and didn't vote for him though. I mean I defend him in every thread but it's just because I'm impartial.

Lynch wanted Comey to call the investigation a "matter" thinking no doubt she could simply just shut it down later by not prosecuting...unfortunately that darn ole Bill Clinton had to get caught meeting secretly with her...putting Comey in the hot seat and indirectly leading to all the Comey BS we've gone through since.

Meanwhile, Trump "hoping" Comey wouldn't end up going after Flynn being charactarized as "asking him to outright stop one" would definitely be characterized as Obstruction of Justice.....

    ...if you're a partisan.

    Amirite?

Lol, considering he doesn't have a staff given that he hasn't even nominated people to fill 80% or more of his appointed openings... 8 months after November, this is probably not something that's going to play well.

Pure comedy watching the liberals trying to spin this and move the goal posts.

    They're flustered.

Actually I'm pretty sure I've said it's unlikely trump committed obtrsuction of justice. However, it's hilarious that you extrapolate a motive for why Lynch wanted comey to call the investigation something else but refuse to assign a nefarious one for why trump asked comey to stop the investigation and then asked three other national security leaders to try to influence comey.

Influence him to do what? Clear Trump's name? Because in Comey's testimony, Trump seemed to be most concerned with that (understandably) and Comey's reluctance to do so....
