I think Matt has improved tremendously. I think what you are refering to was the result of a lack of confidence that he HAD. He offers a full course meal in terms of commentary content while Clydes impersonation of a man from a foreign country with a big heart was funny once or twice (has been a little on the mean side lately) is overall only a bowl of bar nuts.

You gotta appreciate Bull's "OK stop right there" play-breakdowns on the telestrator.

    GOOD JOB BULL!

After the Utah game, my girlfriend saw Bill and Clyde doing the post game and when she saw Clyde (who she had never seen before) she said "Ewww! He looks like he's wearing a mask made from a dead persons face!"

I have no idea where that came from, but it cracked me up. I had to share.

Also, I still hate Clyde as a commentator. He's terrible. He generally says nothing but the most obvious crap or worse - he repeats everything Bill says. Bring back Calvin.

ya it's becoming so bad..bill has started to ask him rhetorical questions just so clyde can answer it. and everything he says is soooo general. i dont need him to tell me whats on the screen which is obvious to a 3 year old. "there he is..taking it to the basket...nothing but net." what bout telling us the plays they are running or what exactly happened on a foul call, was it the right call? etc

Since Calvin left, watching the rockets isnt the same anymore. Im thinking i might just put the tv on mute and listen to Gene Peterson and Jim Foley, i love those guys. Does anyone know if tv usually syncs up with radio?

Personally, I think Clyde is as terrible as ever and I even think that he is starting to bring down Bill. The Rockets need to bring back Calvin before Clyde totally ruins Bill.

    Bill - "Whoooa...TMac with the raz-a-ma-tazz!!"

Clyde as Clyde is just awful. Clyde as Deke, now we're talking. If we could just get him to do the entire broadcast in the Mutombo voice, I might un-mute him.

Nah, Gene Peterson is just that good.

No, TV is about 2-3 seconds behind the radio. It's enough to notice, but it's not so bad that it's hard to watch.

my girlfriend/fiance always makes fun of him b/c he just sort of laughs after everything. She calls him Dr. Hibbert (from the simpsons).

but he has got a little better. Its still a shame JB couldnt be announcer. A JB/van chancellor/bill trio would be a great combo, imo

I agree about Clyde repeating Bill, but I like Clyde. He made the "Kicked in the Jewels" comment which was hilarious. His Dikembe impressions are great too.

He just seems likable. He is nowhere near the color man that Calvin was, or even that Van was, but I do like him.
