Why does everyone want Mike Miller? He will just get hurt like he is now and Mike James? He'll just get traded again like always.

By JONATHAN FEIGEN McGrady a no-show with sore back

    McGrady's back sore
Rockets guard Tracy McGrady did not attend Saturday's game or go through his customary pregame workout because of a sore back.

McGrady, 30, who has become the subject of debate over his insistence he is ready to play while the Rockets have not changed their schedule for him, is to undergo an examination today to determine the cause of his soreness and the severity of any injury.

McGrady had been scheduled to practice Monday and then undergo an MRI, the next step in his comeback from knee microfracture surgery.

    Adelman on McGrady
Though he said he did not want to answer questions about Tracy McGrady's unchanged status every day, on Saturday coach Rick Adelman offered his most extensive explanation of the situation since McGrady donned his uniform Wednesday in Minnesota.

“There is no magical date (for McGrady's return),” Adelman said. “It wasn't the 18th of November. It wasn't the 23rd. It's a process.

“You don't just take somebody who has been out a whole year and suddenly just throw them out on the court. It's not about Tracy at this point; it's about our team, what's best for our team. He's part of that.

“It's not different from before he put his uniform on. Things haven't changed. If it's changed that much, I'll put a uniform on if it can change everything. I wouldn't look very good in it.”

Adelman said nothing has changed because of the team's evaluation of McGrady's readiness to play.

“He's not ready to play yet,” Adelman said. “We've set that (schedule) all along. We said he wasn't going to play. He chose to say something else. That has nothing to do with me.

“My stance hasn't changed at all. It's not going to change. Certainly when he's healthy and ready to play he's a heck of a player.

“But we don't think he is (ready) right now, and we're following a timetable.”

Yeah amazing. Other thing. Morey said McGrady hadn't attended a full practice and than they say they don't think he is ready from what they SAW during PRACTICES.

Whoever the doctor is that ends up examining the MRI, I hope he has in a desk drawer an MRI from some poor college schlub who shredded his knee beyond all repair, someone who was good enough and whose only dream was to play in the NBA one day but the knee injury killed it; maybe the guy now works at discount tire all day and stocks groceries at Walmart at night to make ends meet but he still finds time to further the college education he received from basketball. So, somehow this guy's MRI makes it's way into Tracy's medical file thereby giving the Rockets every right to sit him until his contract is up.

After sitting all year and after having screamed at the top of his lungs to anyone who will listen that he is in fact, 100% he finally reaches free agency. It is, however, with alot less fanfare than if the Rockets had let him play and showcase himself at the expense of the team.

After not getting the big offer he reluctantly signs a one year deal for the veteran's minimum with the Bobcats knowing that since he is fully healthy he will be able to parlay that one year veteran minimum deal into one more huge payday.

And then, in his very first game he totally shreds the same knee hehad the microfracture surgery on, it hurts even more because he knows it is a surgery he did not need. The knee is repaired as best as can be expected but he will never play basketball again but Tracey is not down because he knows he is still relatively young and insanely rich so he feels life is still very good.

Remember the college athlete whose MRI somehow ended up in Tracey's file? Well, he doesn't work at Discount Tire or Walmart anymore. He is now the most successful personal tax attorney in the country and he is hired by Tracey who is being sued by the IRS for unpaid taxes. Tracey spends his entire fortune to defend himself and wins but now he is broke and firthermore, he will always walk with a horrible limp after destroying his structurally weakened post microfracture knee.

Alone and broke, Tracey desperately wishes he had gone to college when he had the chance. Now in order to keep collecting the meager government subsistence he now subsides on, he is forced to turn in job applications to both Walmart and Discount Tire, both places pass him over for a young go getter; it only gets worse from there for our protagonist.

    Payback's a b****

What's wrong with this statement? He said McGrady has not gone through a FULL practice and said he didn't like what he saw of him during practice (as in the the parts of practice he did participate in).

If I told you I didn't like how you act at work and that you have yet to put together a full work week am I contradicting myself?

Can anybody blame Rocket fans, the Rocket organization or any human for ripping on T-Mac? I can't. Really, some of you have biased hate glasses on and some of you have biased love glasses on. The current way the Rockets are treating T-Mac is the same thing T-Mac treated this franchise the past 2 seasons. Please realize this. Tracy was a damn good player in his prime, but he is starting to add himself on the controversial players list with Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury.

You just cant choose when you want to have fire for the game. T-Wack know that he is a contract year and need to prove himself....

The saddest thing in this whole mess is that T-Wack is in the down slope of his career and has some of the dumbest PR people advising him. Did he hire Steve Francis to be his PR advisory?

My bet T-Wack looking of a NBA team to take him in two years... welcome to the AI club...T-Wack.

I was about to post something along these lines. These matters are "he said, she said" and we don't clear enough facts to make a judgment call. The original poster's post is subjective and full of assumptions. If you're going to make a subjective response, the only thing you can do is look at past personal history. The Rockets organization and Rick Adelman seem to have pretty good track records to me. Tracy? Not so good. If I had to make an assumptive post like the OP, I would be inclined to believe that the Rockets and Adelman know what they are doing.

All right: as per OP's request, I'll bash McGrady.

Who cares if he wants to play? Lots of people want to play in the NBA.

I don't care if his body looks nice to some people: he has to be balling to play.

He's getting paid a load. WTF is he complaining about? Do you know that as an assistant professor of English I would have to work 500 years to make his one-year salary?

Dear T-Mac, shut up and do what your boss says.

    Sincerely,
    Sirbaihu
