    Watching shows like The Arrow/Batman/etc.
We have seen people 'decide' to be badass vigilantes

Me and Friends were discussing the chances of that

We figured that with intense focused training.
One could be an above average fighter in about a year
[Military Basic Training is 8 weeks - 12 Weeks]

I Found that Seal training is about 16 Months or so . .. .

So within 2 yrs a person could be a certified 'BADASS'
    Sounds about right?

No. Arrow in the show was five years training and I'm pretty sure Batman was gone like 5-7 years from Gotham. The rest are mutants, metahumans, or aliens.

Batman was learning how criminals think. The Arrow was simply stuck but had his 'badass' badge before going to Singapore.

Looking mainly at the allies - Laurel, Red Arrow, etc
    They moving along quickly.

Could a SpecOps guy be an effective vigilante? Probably. Could he do something like Batman or Green Arrow, where he is fighting crime without killing people on a nightly basis, taking down hordes of mooks, and not getting seriously hurt in the process? Not a chance. The Punisher is a better model of what a vigilante might be able to accomplish, but even that is probably going to be a very short career unless the vigilante is very patient and selective. One's best option in this field would be a sniper taking out random bad guys every once in a while.

2 years of intense military bootcamp would do it in most cases.

Bingo! What makes a badass is the mindset, not the training. Think about any true badasses you've ever met. They probably didn't look like superheroes. They just had that quiet 'if you f*** with me, you will hurt' aura.

What makes special forces guys badasses is that they are completely broken down mentally and built back up- essentially brainwashed.

All of the martial arts and physical training in the world doesn't mean crap if you aren't willing to use it mercilessly.
