Comcast is the absolute worst when it comes to performance,Professionalism, and customer service... Suppose to have my installation done last Thursday with a time window of 11am-2pm and those incompetent bastards showed up at 4 when nobody was home... Now I'm scheduled for next Thursday with a time window of 2pm-4pm and I ain't got that kind of time... FOCK COMCAST!!!!
Comcast also tried to give me an excuse by telling me they tried calling me at a certain number but that certain number was the ported number coming from AT&T to now Comcast... I gave them my cell phone number and my email address just in case they need to reach me and they couldn't use those options??? What the fock was the point of me giving out that information when they're not going to use it or reach me at those optional numbers???
you can dump it within 30days. I went to it for 2 months and then bailed back to UVerse. Screw comcast, if you have an option then bail fast.
No Uverse, Dish Network already said they can't put up a dish here. I don't even know if I'll bother to call DirecTV.
Depends on what level of UVerse service you can get. I just switched twice and the fastest level from uverse was cheaper and faster than comcasts standard. Plus comcast has some boost function that cheats on speed tests. If you download a large file you will see very fast speeds for 30 seconds then it drops to sustained levels.
Weird, I must be lucky. I hardly ever experience any problems. I have not called comcast in over 5 years to report a problem.
After reading your post, I thought you were someone in my household. I am experiencing the EXACT same bullshi**t. Everyday my internet goes out and it's constantly going on and off. It's annoying as hell. Called them like a week and half ago and they said they wouldn't be able to send anyone here until THIS Wednesday. wtf
Never had problems with Comcast internet, but their cable bill is tripping me out. Just got a bill for $185.39 for just a cable plan that costs $86.00. I made my last payment over the phone and the system said that I owed $85.39 as the TOTAL balance (not just the balance due now). I'm confused, upset, and I'm going to call them tomorrow. Ridiculous. Besides, I have CLEAR internet, and it's decent enough for $48.00 per month.
Didn't Comcast have some kinda deal with Time Warner where they swapped areas every 5-10 years or something of the like? And I'm thinking of switching to ATT/Uverse internet. What's their bad points? Service down often or just slow speed sometimes?
Compared to Comcast, I don't think U-Verse has a downside. I know several families that have switched from Comcast to U-Verse and they are all very happy. A few years back, Comcast and Time Warner did a one-time swap of Dallas and Houston.
What was the reason? Due to the nature of the satellite positions, DirecTV has a better change of getting it in. DirecTV is a better all around product.
I hate comcast. I have never hated a company more than comcast. I have switched between them and windstream (only two options available in my area) about 4 times each. Windstream sucks hardcore, but at least its better then the shat that is comcast. My internet with comcast would be horrible. I would have to constantly hit refresh just to load a page because if I didn't hit refresh it would take like 3 minutes just to load 1/2 a web page. I constantly bugged them to come fix it. I had about 5 technicians come and look at it. The first 4 told me everything was working perfectly fine, then I finally got a technician to tell me I was having huge data loss. Well he tried to fix it and even reported it to his manager..weeks passed by and the problem was resolved. When I called comcast to ask them why they never fixed it they did not even acknowledge that there was a problem. I got so damn tired of their crap that I ended up switching back to windstream after only a couple of months of comcast. Every single time I have gone back to Comcast I have had the exact same problem....huge data loss. I even tell them that I experienced this problem every time I have been with them and that they need to fix it and yet they never do. I hate that they have a freaking monopoly over the Sugar Land area. I wish there was some way to make them pay for their ****ty service. / RANT
I hated dish network 10x more than comcast. I actually wish I could have gotten comcast back from dn, but I was at an apt.
Unfortunately, it's hit or miss with Comcast. However for those of you hoping to get FIOS, if AT&T provides any type of residential service at your house, chances are you will NEVER see Verizon Fios.
RR- I know this is a rant, but here's a solution- separate providers for both services. Switch to just the Comcast internet. Then get DirecTV. It's what I do. As far as your internet/tv being out, I would bet that it's the line to the tap. Get the tech out there and be the boss. TELL them to run a new line. If they've done that, TELL them to place you on the FIRST splitter from the tap (or directly into the tap). DirecTV is the best pay-tv service I've ever had. And they're offering NFL Sunday Ticket free this year.
