Sorry but this only tells half the story. Comcast charges 17.50 for EVERY dvd convertor. ( as of tonight on their web site.) Start stackin that price !
looks like time warner is making deals in LA. http://www.forbes.com/sites/prishe/...-deal-time-warner-now-sets-sights-on-dodgers/
Yeah I got a notification email from DirecTV (in LA Area) I could give a crap about the Lakers, and I can watch all the Rockets games on LP still, but its still lame how they're keeping the product away from its loyal fans. Hopefully the other networks can do the same in their markets
What's been said's been said already, but still - Really you SHOULDN'T be cool with that. They've been operating on a profitable LEGAL approach forever with NO COST or very little cost on the consumers. Its gouging pure and simple cuz they can now.
Exactly. The only way to justify it is cuz sports teams like the Knicks are ALREADY doing it to get a higher profile, and getting deeper pockets to putting a better product on the floor, so you have to compete in the same way. There's a difference in saying: 1) Here's Dancing with the Stars, but now we have MORE STARS competing. Thats just more extra redudancy and nothing anyone really's asked for. 2 Donny Osmonds instead of 1. Don't go OVERBUDGET on yourself, HIJACK the product from the fans viewing, and then TAX the fans. or 2) Here's Dancing with the Stars, but now we can spend MORE to get Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Scarlett Johansen competing. (But you have to buy D.W.T.S. at a low cost) Thats where you gotta think things through some. You actually WILL get MORE QUALITY (Kinda like New York getting Carmelo and Amare compared to Eddy Curry). But at what cost do you want to pay
I don't care if they charge me $3.95 a month to watch the Rockets I would be more than happy to have that option. It seems to me like it's a bad was to do business, if you want new customers (fans) to support your team and buy your product I don't see why you would charge them. In the championship years I had to pay over $150 to watch part of the playoffs that were only broadcast on pay par view.
It sucks that I can't watch these games on TV, but I rather enjoy listening to the opposing team's announcers.
I hook up an HDMI cable from my laptop to the TV (bigger screen) and stream it. It's like a trip back to the 80's- crappy vid and sound quality minus the humungus team names, score numbers, screenshot of the time clock, and bad semi perm hairdo's.
I streamed the second half of the Jazz game tonight and I'm not mad anymore. Now I see what I'm (not) missing.
