I love this lineup up, but now it's all messed up. I get Golf TV on 32. They should move TBS back to 31, Spike to 32, and FX to 28.
OKAY, ive been wanting to switch from comcast to U-verse for quite some time...but no one has answered my question before, is At&t's highspeed internet the same as comcasts, because even with the high prices, their internet is fast i just wanna know that u-verse is just as fast so i can finally switch
Glad you brought up that site. When I test my speed on their Dallas server, it's >20000 kbps and 1800 for upload. When I test using any of their other servers, my speeds are always much less than that, like 7500 kbps and 800. Anyone else (especially in Houston) have the same thing happen?
That was using my wireless laptop. I just did the test again (Dallas server) on my desktop and these are my results...wtf? Yours blows mine away: Last Result: Download Speed: 1566 kbps (195.8 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 310 kbps (38.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5220011.html Comcast switch leaves fans in dark Planned move of TBS cuts off finish of NLCS By DAVID BARRON Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle Some Comcast cable subscribers in Houston missed the final innings early Tuesday of the Rockies' pennant-clinching victory over the Diamondbacks because of a previously scheduled channel switch involving TBS, which aired the game. Comcast began migrating TBS from channel 31 to channel 51 about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, about 25 minutes before the end of Colorado's Game 4 victory to clinch the National League Championship Series. Some viewers say they received FX, which now airs on Comcast 31, and others reported receiving static. The change did not affect TBS' HD signal on channel 303. "We were in a situation where the change had been planned, and we couldn't stop it," Comcast Houston spokesman Ray Purser said. "It's unfortunate, and we apologize to the customers who were affected by it." According to Nielsen Media Research, an average of about 39,000 households watched the game in Houston between midnight Monday and 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. That dropped to about 20,500 customers between 12:15 and 12:30 a.m.
i never disliked TWC like so many others (i guess b/c they never gave me any real problems in 7 years), but i definitely miss them now. comcast is just killing me. more internet slowdowns, f'ing up my billing, raising rates a large amount ($20 for hbo, are you kidding?), and now randomly switching TBS off of 31, where it fit perfectly. the lower 50s are crap on top of crap (really from about 47-57) and like someone else said, i loved the discovery through tnt 29-36 run. convenient to scroll through on the guide. this just screws it up needlessly (the golf channel just randomly thrown to 32?). i haven't liked a single thing comcast has done, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like our apartment complex gets U-verse so i guess we're stuck for now. she went to my high school and was actually valedictorian a year ahead of me. i miss her commercials, too.
October 26 can't wait for the extra HD channels. as for those paying over $100 for cable and internet, if you don't have a contract, try this: call them up, make sure you get the "cancellation department" and say, "Hello, I'd like to keep your service and not go through the hassle of changing companies, but right now ATT is offering me a package that will save me money significantly. I'd like to give you the chance to match the offer if possible. otherwise, I'm seriously contemplating changing providers." They will ask you what is it that ATT is offering you. Tell them 200 channels with HD and the internet for $74. 95. the rep will play the, "let me discuss this with my boss," card. as long as your cordial throughout the conversation, they will match it.
29-37 lineup was sweet now i got friggin GOLF... who actually watches golf on TV. it's not even a sport.
that's what my rant's all about. it was perfect the way it was. as for golf, i've learned that it's only exciting when it's Tiger. Sounds overplayed, but he brings out the best out of everyone and that makes for better entertainment. TBS on 31 RULES.
back in the day, why did TBS start at :05 past the hour, and :35 past the hour? remember when TBS did that?
yea that was weird. I remember catching a show thinking 'yea i just got here just in time' only to find out it's the end. TBS, you were such a saucy minx. Too bad they sent you to hell.
Your download speed is kind of slow. Upload is OK. The previous posters upload speed looks incorrect. The upload is capped at 384 kpbs so the other reading was WAY too high. Your upload speed seems OK. Your download speed could be affected due to wireless. I would retest. My download speed now is: 6291 kbps My upload speed is: 362 kbps
I almost missed my preset recording of Damages onFX because of the channel switch. (that show is badass by the way. It's over next week though) I never ever thought I would be begging for an ATT product. $20 for HBO? As a movie channel it's horrible, but as a mini-series production company it's wonderful.....but not worth $20. Really, FX and TBS are catching up with them. Rescue Me and Damages were HBO worthy...without boobies though.
Because they figured if you kept watching a show at :05 past the hour you are missing the start of another show on another network at the top of the hour and may keep watching the next show on TBS instead. Other networks have tried this as well.
