That blows. I liked his show even though he was over the top at times. But at least he wrote well, and had intelligent things to say, and didn't play down to the lowest common denominator. He even softened his tone after the AZ shooting and got rid of worst persons in the world.
I thought O'Reilly was bad until Beck started getting popular. Beck makes papa bear look like he actually knows what he's talking about.
And I'll add that partisan 24 hour news channels makes it harder to get the unbiased facts necessary to make your own decisions. Ultimately, most people don't watch FOX News or or MSNBC to get the straight news. They watch to get their own opinions parroted back at them and to find out what the conservative/liberal opinion is on issues they don't know about yet. That's why PBS is the most trusted TV news outlet and FOX is the most distrusted. http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2011/01/our-second-annual-tv-news-trust-poll.html Note that it's a poll about trust and not about popularity. But straight, unbiased news doesn't bring in the ratings.
Capitalism- making money by exploiting the gullible. There's a sucker born every minute, most of them in Kentucky
Seriously Fox News caters to the Lowest common denominator. I am right down the middle on issues, fiscal conservative and social moderate...but I can't watch Fox News because of the lack of truth, perspective, and basically lunacy in what they are saying. It is like the guy with the megaphone at the front of the class saying stupid stupid stuff but no one else can be heard because he has the megaphone. Fox News is this countries Al Jazzera. BTW- Olbermann was annoying to, he always felt like he was talking down to people.....although occassionally he nailed it..... DD
yeah, well American Idol is the highest rated show in America. Go figure Here's hoping Keith lands on his feet (I'm sure he will). [edit] Oops my bad Jersey Shore! even better
This makes me sad for our country's future. I guess the ratings for jersey shore and all that *****e puts it in perspective. Still makes me worry. It makes sense though. Luckystrkes - Guess you never watched this guy. Spoiler
Although I rarely, if ever, agreed with Olbermann, I always considered him articulate and interesting despite his condescending, spiteful presentation. I would love to see him paired with his obverse, Sean Hannity, with three-minute uninterrupted exchanges. Of course, there would have to be bars between the two to prevent television's first live mortal combat.
