I purposefully left everyone from Tebow and beyond out of the discussion because it's so early in their careers.

I can understand that....but I can not understand how that is even in this discussion, as Colt did not win the heisman and therefore it is really not germaine to the topic we are discussing.

What would be more apt IMO, would be to compare QBs who started 3-4 years and had significant success at a big time school and see how they stacked up as pros.

True, but you could also do that with guys that didn't have the success/hype at the college level, such as a Brady, Romo or even Warner in the early part of their career...Heismen or not, no ones a sure thing...

Colt is doing what he's asked and I'm rooting for him...hopefully he'll continue to grow and continue to start...

I don't know why DD is even bringing up the Heisman thing, that was something I responded to somebody else who made an absurd claim about college winning percentages having a correlation to NFL success.

Who was the all-time winningest QB in College Football history before Colt McCoy? David Greene?

He never even completed a single pass in the NFL, so Colt is already better than him I guess.

Colt just single-handedly drove 60 yards to tie the game against the Jets with 40 seconds left.

Apparently according to a recent study, for QBs in the first two rounds, the two biggest predictors of success from the college level are (1) games started and (2) completion percentage. Kind of odd, but apparently true.

Colt wasn't drafted in the first two rounds, so this may not apply to him - but he ranks sky-high on those two categories as a 4-year starter who set the all time NCAA completion % record.

Quit being a baby and just admit that Colt isn't half bad against some top defenses of the NFL.

Is there anybody who still doubts Colt when he said that the Horns were going to beat Alabama?

Damn close call, but Vince won the big one vs USC that I don't believe Colt would have won. Of course he would have beat Alabama.

Nod to Vince in college. Looks like Colt in the pros.

You must've not watched Vince Young.

Colt McCoy is not better than Vince Young now or when both were in their collegiate years. Try again.

In 2005 Vince was the greatest college player of all time , yes i said it. Better than Lord Tebow.

As for the pros, I've always thought Colt was gonna be better than Vince, and i'm pretty sure he already is.

He is smarter, more accurate, and is better at knowing when to run and when to stay in the pocket.

Colt is better if you compare THIS current stage of their careers....Vince was not this ready for the pro game when he was a rookie.

Colt couldnt hold Vince's jockstrap in terms of comparing their collegiate careers

Colt was a fumble not bouncing out of bounds away from leading his team to victory vs the Jets....and that was after he led them against the Saints and Pats (all 3 playoff calibur teams)...I dont think Vince was that advanced when he was at this stage

He's not done half bad, better than I thought he'd do.

But I still think he's soft.
