Collier is not a bust. He will help next season against the zone with his ability to step out and shoot. Cato=serious bust.

    I'm with the pro-Collier people.

I dont really need to explain any points since TheCat and the others have basically pointed them all out. Given the talent level of the draft and the position that the Rockets were in last year, I think they made a good choice. Collier + the future first round pick.

I can't wait till next season when Danforth gets summo playin time. Hopefully he's workin hard in the offseason and he'll be ready next yr.

Isn't that part of the beauty of having Collier - the fact that we GOT an extra pick for this season?
I'm not certain that there were too many guys picked in the first round of the 2000 NBA draft who actually will justify their draft picks. Should Kenyon Martin be a number 1 pick? By no means! But he was the best player available, and had to be taken.
It's hard to bash Collier for being a wasted 15th pick when there was nothing else to pick - coupled with the fact that we picked up a first round pick in this years (allegedly deep) draft than I think it was a good pick 15.

As for Colliers playing future, he's a big guy who has decent range on his jumper. I also do not think that he's a 3 point shooter, but he DOES run the pick'n'roll superbly! However he blew a few too many layups trying to finish on the p'n'r, but could that be part of his adjusting to playing against better opposition? If he manages to correct that area of his game and become a stronger finisher then I think he's a great backup!!

Dr. N., I hope you have read all my posts on this thread. I have said that Collier may turn into a decent player, but that this team needs more defense, not more offense, out of a bench 5.

Right now, we are loaded up with too many small forwards and too many guys who do not play good defense in the front court. If we can get a really good three who can play at both ends, we free up roster spots for more slots in the 5/4. But right now, we could lose the Dream, and if that happens, we are sunk without serious additions to the frontcourt roster.

I've acknowledged that Collier may get his shot to fall, and sets a decent pick, but he's not going to be able to play the kind of D we need to make the playoffs.
