    No, just in every case.

So I take it you think George Lynch is a better shooter than Matt Bullard?

    Bullard-- 42.3% FG
    Lynch-- 44.5% FG

By no means were you too quick or too anything. I just wanted to apologize to you for pulling you into such a negative forum. Anyway, thanx for your thoughts on how the extra 20+ pounds would affect Collier's play.

    Enbehay,

Thanks... not a problem for me at all. I'm very used to this by now, and it probably won't end until the season starts. How far are we away now? :)

Dont try to change the perameters of your previous statements. You tried to discharge Rockette's stance on Collier because you confused his words with meaning he didnt watch Collier as much as you Cat. He then informed you that he had watched Collier a bit. In your haste to defend the Rox worst rostered player, you made a mistake.

Ok, anyone on this planet beside you want to claim that Collier was responsible for Shaqs Lower output in those two games? Ive already said this. Maybe, just maybe shaq didnt score 30 because Kobe was in route to two near 50 point games. Why would shaq need to score 30 then? Cmon. That has to be the weakest argument for Colliers supposed ability to defend, cause let me be the first to inform you, collier has poor lateral movement, doesnt shift well on D, is uncapable of blocking shots, and couldnt rotate quickly on D if his mothers life depended on it. Collier has Eric Montross wish he was, written all over him. And who ever it was that compared him to Lambieer needs to SERIOUSLY watch some ESPN classic.

Crispee. I made this point before. I think people like to call someone a shooter if they like to shoot from outside. I believe Collier is one of those people. He shot what .390 last year. His college average is what .420, or something like that. For a guy who towered over his competetion that percentage just stinks. And unlike Rockettebustier ( ) I have seen Collier play a bit. Never, even before he was a rocket did anyone label him a SHOOTER, in the sense of a person who can knock it down consistenly. Only in the sense of a big man who can swing out and occasionaly knock one down out there. Heck, Barkley was more a shooter than Collier is.

    Dreamshake,

Collier shot 47.3% his senior year at Georgia Tech. He shot 45.8% for his college career.

Please guys dont bring up stats on Collier, its just so pathetic. I watch and play basketball and let me tell you, Collier has no skill or talent. This is not personal, this is a basketball evalution and to me, Collier is much too incapable of hanging with professional basketball players. Christ almighty, it takes the man 5 seconds to slide over on a switch, he has no mobility whatsover. Collier may be big but he has unfixable paralayzed motions in his bones

I disagree with your evaluation. Collier sets a good pick, and can hit the open shot. He gives effort, and he is not as painfully slow as you suggest - he is no slower than other players his size.

I imagine the vast majority of people on this board watch and play basketball.

I don't think you need to be telling me what I meant to say. I seriously doubt that rockette watched much of Collier in college, and if he did, then I did make a mistake in that evaluation. But so far, he has not said anything to the contrary.

Also, Dreamshake, you might want to do your homework before you post. Kobe had near 50 point games when Shaq was held down? Don't think so. He scored 15 points in one, and 37 in the other, for an average of 26 points per game. Wouldn't Shaq have needed to score more?

By the way, I watch and play basketball too, and I think Collier has a good amount of talent.

And Carlos being the best shooter we had on our squad last season? Damn Rudy - you love shooters, why did you let him go?

This would be the mediacal term I take it? I can only infer what you intend to say, but I sure as hell can't argue... mostly because what you say makes no real sense.

Okay Cat, here's a question: What player on the Rockets is worse than Collier? Can you name one?

Dan Langhi, Kelvin Cato, Terence Morris, and Walt Williams. I'm not saying Collier will always be better than Langhi and Morris, because they do have potential (and Jason does as well), but Collier has shown more results than Langhi on the floor, so for right now he's the better option. Almost any player in the NBA is better than Kelvin Cato if he has the same attitude he had last year, and we haven't seen any difference so far.

Typical Cat...Speaking of Homework why dont you try some simple math.

Game one with Collier collecting like 12 minutes...Shaq 24 points. Ok

Game two Shaq scores 14 But Kobe scored 37. Maybe thats why shaq scored only 14. Or maybe its the fact that shaq only played like 30 minutets that game, and fouled out of it. You think maybe thats why?

Game three without Collier Shaq scores .... dun dun duuunnnn. 25. Hmmm

Game four with Collier for his 11 minute stretch, shaq scores 41.

So what do we have, 3 games with Collier pulling around 13 minutes a game...Average for shaq of: 26.3 ppg.

One game without Collier, shaqs average against the Rox is 25 per game.

Yep. Id say youve nailed it. Collier was an immense difference in the defense of Shaq. Show me the immense difference your refering too. Maybe, the Rox in general defended Shaq better than other teams

The 3rd game Collier played in is completely irrelevant, because Collier was playing on a serious knee injury at the time. My argument this whole offseason has been to judge what a healthy Collier has done. With a healthy Collier playing, Shaq scored 19 a game. With Collier injured or out, Shaq scored 33 a game. Is Collier himself responsible for most of that difference? No, I'm not being silly. But if Collier was such a horrible defender, wouldn't Shaq have just destroyed him? Wouldn't the Lakers have noticed what a huge mismatch it was, and taken advantage?

Knowing that Shaq had such an enormous advantage over Collier, wouldn't the Rockets have overcompensated on defense, and doubled Shaq every time he received the ball in the post, like they did?

How is Walt Williams worse than Collier? I'll give you Langhi (truthfully, I forgot he was even a Rocket). Kelvin Cato provides at least a shot blocking threat. Plus, if you claim it is unfair to judge Collier because he was injured, you should give the same benefit to Cato.

Walt Williams can do one thing, and that is shoot. And even then, his shot is inconsistent. He goes through horrible bad streaks. Collier may not be an offensive powerhouse, but at least he can provide in categories other than points, such as rebounds and defense (yes, Collier is a better defender than Walt). Certainly those other categories are things the Rockets need more than an inconsistent shot.

I was at that game Tacoma, when Collier actually received a standing ovation, and the Rockets philosophy for defending Shaq did not change significantly when they went from Dream to Collier. They did not double team Shaq on the touch... now at times, if Shaq made a move to the middle, KT or someone would slide over, but they did the same thing with Dream and would with any other center in the NBA.

Plus, if you claim it is unfair to judge Collier because he was injured, you should give the same benefit to Cato.

What? Cato missed time early in the season, but you cannot tell me that his "sprained ankle" bothered him for the whole season. Give me a link.

Oh, and by the way, Cato isn't much of a shotblocking threat, but even if he is, who cares? I'll take someone who can score in the post, set solid picks, work hard, shoot from the perimeter, and defend over a one dimensional shotblocker.
