That’s a red blooded American bootstrapper right there. Self made success stories like Trump and Kylie Jenner would be proud.

I hope none of the people complaining (looking at you MTG) had their PPP loans forgiven

That 31 year old got a hell of a lot of help. Hardly an example that everyone can follow.

    Are you proposing this?

Or are you engaging in your usual indirect slippery slope fallacies.

Here are some other equally r****ded responses you might give in other threads.

    - Why don't we just tax everyone at 100% percent
    - Why don't we just raise minimum wage to 40 dollars per hour
    - Why don't we just let everyone cross the border
    - Why not just legalize all weapons
    - Why don't we legalize all drugs

The answer to your question, as well as all these other questions, is...because that's ****ing stupid.

From stimuli to loan forgiveness, most of dont qualify for any Biden dollars, and that's ok. I trust he will lower inflation and that will be like getting a tax break.

The Biden Administration is economically illiterate, so this move does not surprise me. What's sad is that this will have the effect of discouraging people from saving for college...and will cause universities to raise tuition... leaving us with MORE STUDENT DEBT in the future. Liberals, while sometimes well-intentioned, are complete buffoons when it comes to actually predicting the impact of their policies. More often than not, their policies work against their goals and lead to making the problem worse. This case is no different.

So, your thinking is that people will just get loans rather than saving because they assume the loans will be forgiven? Or am I misunderstanding?

What surprises me is u thinking that 10K debt relief is all it takes for folks 2 b discourage from saving for college.
Goes to shows how out of touch u are with reality, and u have the gall to accuse liberals from being complete buffoons.

10k debt relief is nothing especially if u aspire to work in the health profession.

Except the amount of cumulative taxes those groups pay into the system is a drop in the bucket, so this person really needs to stop whining. If anything they should be complaining about paying for F-35's we'll probably never use in combat.

The reason college costs are through the roof is because of administrative costs. The salaries of admin staff is skyrocketing and there are now more admin than professors. In fact, the quality of professors has largely declined while the number and salaries of admin has increased by orders of magnitude. This phenomenon is happening in both education and healthcare and is a huge reason why costs are getting driven up without any seeming improvement in QOS.

There are some Youtubes out there going into how the bigger unis went all out to attract foreign students (namely from China) who would pay full tuition to the point where college admins woud look to game results for largely arbitrary College Ranking Systems like US News Top 100 to act as a funnel.

There's usually backlash among Americans against foreign Chinese students (or Asian students in general) overtaking unis, but they underpinned an unsustainable growth model among colleges that is starting to show stress during Covid.

The issue post-Covid is that with our growing Cold War with China, younger folk are understandably becoming more negative of America and the idea of traveling abroad to study here. Their version of millennials (Yao Ming Rockets era) have much better memories and experiences in America and even carved relationships and connections with Americans, but not anymore.

I find the whole college industry mind boggling, especially the ones with billion dollar plus endowments and are run both as a hedgefund and a large cap corporation. I'm sure more insiders can take a closer look under the hood, but I'm not sure how many can mid tier universities still stand while parents and students fork out an arm and a leg for non-STEM pieces of paper that they could also cobble together online.

Covid really crippled the multiplier effect of having smart energetic people aggregate inside a competitive area, and I'm not sure what the experience will be in today's 6ft or more social distancing climate.
