[college poll] Where did you go/ where are you going?

University of Houston c/o 2010

Three semesters left after my last final wednesday.

 

Started at UT for first 4 years and then finished at A&M for the last two years (took me over 8 years to get Bachelors). Now I'm in grad school at TX State.

 

I graduated from SFA last year. I worked and went to community college before that.

I'm currently a highschool senior and am on the fence to where I wish to go. I'm mulling over going to UT (austin) or UT-Dallas. I've been accepted to Dallas and am likely going to receive full tuition from them and I will be admitted to UT due to the top10% rule. In reality it probably is not as difficult a decision as I feel it is, but hopefully I figure out what I wish to do soon so I can vote in this poll (kidding). In the end I'll be at one of these two schools

 

UTD sucks. Go to UT.

Thanks for the advice, I'm have to look at it a bit deeper and weigh my options if I do follow through with setting up my college plan to go to dental school. UTD may not have the atmosphere of UT but I'm trying to find out if the smaller class sizes really would benefit me in getting to where I want to after my undergrad. Perhaps a larger class size wouldn't be so bad as I could meet more people to study with and whatnot. But thats a discussion for another thread, I've already strayed off from the original post enough haha.

 

I guess places like SHSU, SFA, Texas State and the like are too small to get any love on the poll?

I went to SHSU by the way. Why pay more when we get out and have the same jobs anyway?

Yeah I'm not 100% sure what I'm majoring in but I'm leaning towards biology. I have to take quite a few hours of bio and chemistry as prerequisites to dental school. I'm trying to weigh whether taking a lesser education at UTD with the chance of having a higher gpa will give me a better chance at getting into dental school than having a lower gpa at UT. It's something that I've been meaning to look during winter break. I have a two friends at UTD, both are ee majors. One of them finds UTD to be ok, but wants to transfer to UT next year because the atmosphere would suit him better. Would you or others have an opinion towards which I should go to given my desire to get into dental school?

Bachelor of Science from University of Houston - Downtown.

I picked "other in state" because I consider UH-Downtown not a part of the University of Houston. What with all this name change and what not, it's insane to think UHD has anything to do with UH.

With that said, I might get a Masters of Professional Writing from Houston Metropolitan University.

I went to TCU my freshman year, then to Blinn College on and off in Bryan / College Station for 3 years, now I'm at Stephen F Austin.

Lumberjack....looks like I'll finish as one, although I'm contemplating University of Louisiana.

I'm ready to finish though, so SFA most likely the final destination.

 

Went to a JuCo then transferred to UH and graduated from there.
