I don't think anybody in this thread is related to any of those athletes or knows them personally which was who I was speaking of, now I admit I could be wrong about that fact. The "slut" and "w****" lines are what I am specifically talking about. Could she have gone about this in a better manner? Sure and I will not argue that but I don't think name calling helps in making the situation better, regardless.
It isn't that she's a slut. Its just that this is kind of a dick move, even if these guys probably deserve it.
No kidding. There aren't too many things that make me happy I'm approaching my mid-30's, but this is definitely one of them. I try to stifle this, but my general reaction to Gen Y (or whatever they're called) antics such as this is "What are you doing?" in my best Eddie Izzard voice.
If I were on that powerpoint I honestly probably wouldn't even care that much. At the end of the day I hit it and quit it, i'd probably be getting more high-fives than any insults, even if she said I was horrible in bed. That chick will be getting all of the heat anyway, plus she is not even good looking.
In that line of thinking, what someone calls her here isn't important, anyway...as she's never likely to know it. But I can understand people being extremely upset with something like this. Publishing something like this about someone is ridiculous and flat out crappy.
that was interesting... I could say a lot of things about both the athletes and the girl... but I think it has likely all already been said.
i'm only reading what's been reported. everything everyone is saying is based on that assumption. we haven't had time for a trial yet.
Well a quote from her casts at least some doubt that she made it available for the world to see: I guess we'll just have to wait and see when all the facts come out, if they ever really do.
publishing it means sharing it with even one person. publishing it amongst a group of people isn't a swell idea.
After the trial is over, can we get back to making fun of her (on a basketball website that she'll never see) without being admonished for it?
I don't practice PowerPoint Sex law or Basketball Message Board law (or the fusion of the 2), so unfortunately I can't answer your question.
What a terrible presentation... Youre not suppose to overload slides with information and commentary. Power "Point" presentations should have bullet points or key information and serve as cue cards while the presenter fills in the details. She could have left a lot of info off the cards and done in-class demonstrations to better represent her arguements. That is all I have to say about that.
Sure but I am certain most, if not all, of us have shared a secret, idea, time, etc. with a person/people that we thought we could trust only to turn around and see that they weren't very trustworthy at all.
putting it in a lengthy powerpoint presentation? this isn't just gossip over coffee. not just girls talking. she spent time to put this all together to be distributed. its existence implies an audience. honestly, its crappy. we can defend it saying she's a college kid...or that we all make stupid mistakes...but it doesn't make it anything other than stupid in spite of being very intentional and thought out.
