barkley is a true freshman people. he's going to struggle some this year, but he showed up when it counted just now.

and SC is that good. their offense was so pathetic (as bad as it has been in years) and finally has a lead v. a top 10 team on the road. you're going to struggle if your QB struggles. he'll get better.

You can thank a lot of the drive to joe mcknight.

barkley's 2 throws near their own endzone were also huge (though mcknight was the man).

like i said, you can't expect a freshman to dominate against a pretty good OSU defense on the road. he'll learn from this and get better down the line.

Guess the real question now is Terrell Pryor overrated or is the USC defense that good?

I think of little of both. USC D is very good.

Pryor sucks as a decision-maker and thrower and OSU's defense was pathetic on that last scoring drive. They had USC pinned in their own end with 2nd and long and then 3rd and long. USC couldn't do anything all day. I think it was more of OSU sitting back defensively than anything USC did on that drive. Pathetic finish for OSU.

And I'm an OSU fan criticizing Pryor. He's a bonehead.

    4 elite teams... my ass..

    There's only Texas and Florida..

USC and Alabama can't handle FL or TX.

The bottom line: In just his 2nd start as a true freshman, Matt Barkley closed the sale when the game was on the line while Terelle Pryor was pathetic the entire 4th quarter except for one run. Barkley's future looks bright and USC will benefit as the season progresses. Pryor hasn't progressed as much as I hoped he would.

USC simply beats great teams. u line them up, they beat them. they just have to watch out for the scrubs in their own division.

Sucks to be O State - Oklahoma and Ohio.

2 out of the title game a few more to go.

LOL @ Sooners' fans thinking a 64-0 against a cream puff school somehow puts them back in the hunt for the national title. :D

    Awesome game by Cougars!

His poor decision-making, especially the way he still locks into receivers, is a huge weakness. I think Pryor has the ability to make throws, but reading defenses, making progressions and deception are required of all very good QBs. I betcha in practice he throws like Peyton Manning.

it's his 2nd year. i saw nothing in the first 2 games that indicate he will get better. don't get me wrong, he's a GREAT athlete (one of the best in football). but being a QB is more than that. you have to be able to read defenses, adjust on the fly, and make quick/decisive/accurate throws. he's too inconsistent in that regard.

i guess OSU can just draw up the QB draw every down b/c that's the only thing pryor is consistent at.
