Did you miss last week versus K State? I know some people that were wondering if we would pick up another game this year. Beating Tech is nothing to get giddy about, but I'm always happy to see them lose.
lol cougar fans jizzed their collective pants after they barely squeezed out a win against Tech IN Houston. I guess after us sucking so bad and getting straight up embarrassed, TWICE, we should be ecstatic about this win. With that said, I'm actually kinda bummed because this means less outrage at A&M, more acceptance of the status quo, and no change coming *cough* Bill Byrne *cough* . After the ass whoppin we got last week, there was a great piece written in the battalion about how Byrne has pretty much single-handedly destroyed aggie athletics and our national reputation. Football has been total crap, basketball is consistently mediocre, and baseball has fallen off. Dude didn't even interview anyone other than Sherman when names like Sumlin and others were available, he mishandled the whole Franchione situation, and some even blame him for BCG's departure. I really want him gone, and as much as it's financially insane, I'd also like to see Sherman gone and us stealing Sumlin from UH or any other COLLEGE coach who understands how it works. Heck, bring back RC!
http://bcsguru.blogspot.com/ Saturday, October 24, 2009 Almost Famous Lane Kiffin came close. He was accused of not trying to win against Florida, but no such allegation may be lodged against him and his Tennessee Volunteers this week. Had Daniel Lincoln put a little more arc on his field goal attempts, we would be here discussing how the next BCS Standings would be completely shaken up. Instead, it's a weekend of what it might have been. Throw in another Sparty, No! moment, what we are left with is simply status quo at the top of the BCS Standings. Or is it? Florida, Alabama and Texas will remain in the top three spots - in that order - in Sunday's BCS Standings. However, some shuffling will be in order for the next five slots. The 4-8 spots will be close, and how the order plays out will depend largely on the voters of the two polls. Will they consider TCU now good enough to be in the top 5, or will they continue to let the Horned Frogs languish in the 7-8 spots? Will they punish Iowa for needing the very last second to escape Michigan State? Will USC be hurt by its yet another closer-than-expected victory? With Boise State safely ahead, 34-0, at the half in paradise (and the Guru's sometime offseason home), there is enough data to run the projections. It'll be close, but unlike some people, I won't chicken out. The projected BCS Standings: 1. Florida, 2. Alabama, 3. Texas, 4. Iowa, 5. TCU, 6. Boise State, 7. Cincinnati, 8. USC, 9. LSU, 10. Oregon, 11. Georgia Tech, 12. Penn State, 13. Virginia Tech, 14. Oklahoma State, 15. Utah.
Potts is terrible I think he is now 3rd string. So much for the theory that you can plug anybody into Leach's system and he will produce.... Tech's D looked amazing against Nebraska but turns out nebraska is just pathetic on offense.. But Ruffin stilll has improved the defense significantly since hes taken over... Great win for the Ag's. I doubt its any kind of turn around game for their program though. I was browsing through the facebook status updates this morning. I find it comical that people hate tech so much. But oh well what can you do?
They were polled and surveyed by Big 12 media to have the worst fanbase in the Big 12. Misplaced arrogance and throwing tortillas will tick people off the wrong way. Same thing with Baylor fans. They talk trash to us (actually saying we suck and such) on our board (orangepower.com ), but after they get their ass handed to them they don't eat their crow. Again, a cowardless, arrogant fanbases. Now, Georgia fans were pretty classy overall. Vice versa, they said we were the classiest fanbase they have ever seen besides Nebraska. UT fans on our boards and who goes to our games have always been classy overall too. Only Tech and Baylor fans are troublesome.
Was anyone else confused as to why Tennessee let the clock bleed down so much before their FG attempt instead of trying to set up a more manageable kick for their kicker? Clearly their kicker was having trouble beyond 40-yard during the game.
I was wondering the same thing. I believe there was about 25 seconds left and they were on 2nd down, couldve easily hurried up and run a quick 5 yard play or spike and set up a quick 3rd down play. Also, how come Tebow is being a puss and avoiding the media after yesterdays game?
Lol at people who think Tech is a bad team. Potts is horrible. Yanked AGAIN after a horrid performance for a 3rd stringer. If Sheffield had been in this game, it is an entirely different result. It's amazing how much better a defense can be when they're not forced back onto the field every 5 minutes due to an INT/punt/inefficiency. Leach picked incorrectly with Potts. I said as much after the UH game.
so that explains your disappearance from the texans/bengals thread after the game; coincidentally Matt Schaub had an outstanding game... (copyright moestavern19)
I knew Potts was going to be horrible from watching him play last year when Tech was blowing out opponents. He could not do anything against backup players. Kind of feel bad for the guy he might be the most hated guy on Tech campus right now and being fully blamed for yesterday even though the defense was the main reason why we lost. We made Jerrod Johnson look like a legit heisman player. Mike Leach called the same offense dump screen probably at least 40 times, maybe that is all the throws Potts and Doege can complete I dont know. The defense got abused, they could not wrap and tackle, the secondary got exposed every pass was thrown to a wide open receiver. Thought the team would wake up and be more fired up after getting embarrassed in the first half but Aggies strolled easily on their opening drive.
why everyone here is shouting here over the texas/bama/fla debate and ignoring the fact that somehow a USC team with a HORRIBLE loss is sitting at #4 ahead of teams like tcu, boise, cincy, and iowa is a shame. i do think at this point in the season Texas is the #1 team as both fla and bama have struggled mightily to squeak out wins at home against very mediocre teams. add to that the fact that Texas is clearly the best defensive team in the country and has enough offensive talent to score on anyone and i have a hard time putting them at the 1 spot. that being said if they win out i want them sitting at #2.
