Perennial pretenders Ohio State bite the dust. LSU, your luck runs out next week. Not sold on Oregon and I think their luck runs out sometime soon as well. It's going to be funny when the season ends with Boise State and TCU as #1 and #2 in the BCS standings.
one win away from a baylor bowl game! also...loved seeing the Horns stick it to Nebraska on their way out.
Texas is going to look back at the end of this season and really kick themselves for blowing that ucla game.
They didn't really blow the UCLA game - they got beat up physically on both offense and defense. If anything, OU would be the game that they blew because so much of it was just stupid penalties.
I think the NCAA nightmare scenario right now is Michigan State vs Boise State for the national title. Boise vs the SEC or Ohio State or Oregon or OU would be exciting - people will want to see if Boise can knock off one of the big boys. But Boise vs. Michigan State? No one would watch that one. I don't think both TCU and Boise can make the title game. Whichever of those (likely TCU) is ranked #2 will probably get passed by the #3 team that's in a big BCS conference (a 1-loss SEC team, for example). I think the only way Boise makes it is to be solidly ranked #1 in the polls - they'll be obliterated in the computers, so they need a huge advantage in the human component.
i dont see OU doing that. and when i asked that question i didnt think they would either. but i also thought they were going to play mizzou and okie state. but there not, they just play okie state. and that boys and girls is probably not enough to move into, what is the top 12. boooooooooo
Oh sorry - I think you were referring to Texas. If Texas ends up 10-2, they'll be in the top 12. But whether they can make a BCS game is a different story. There are 4 at-large spots. Assuming Boise and TCU get a pair, that leaves two. You figure the SEC will get one, so that puts Texas up against any 1-loss teams in the Big 12, Big 10, and possibly Pac-10. It also depends on who gets teams poached. For example, if Oregon is in the title game, they probably prefer a Stanford over a Texas. But if it's the Fiesta Bowl, maybe a different story.
Unfortunately the rest of the schedule looks brutal. KSU isn't a pushover this year, but at least they get them at home, and the Aggies, too. Gotta win one of those to make it happen...
yeah i think your probably right. texas still has to win all there games though. and thats a big if in my opinion, but it will be fun to see though.
If Alabama wins out....they're in the National Championship. No doubt. Auburn LSU Whoever is in the SEC championship.
Great weekend for us. I didn't get to make the game though so that was a little upsetting but I'll take the result. Good to see OSU/Nebraska lose.
