les miles should be involved in all college football games. somebody figure out the logistics and make it happen. dude has tripped and fallen into more late game wins than any coach i've ever seen.
The buffoon gets lucky again. The bubble will burst later on against Auburn and Alabama. LSU fans, looks like you will be stuck with Les Miles after this season.
It certainly wasn't backwards.....I guess it was dead ass even...which is legal I guess. Lucky bounce + Nice Catch at end + Les Miles selling his soul to the devil = 6-0
This was a really good day for Boise State and TCU. Alabama loses. VaTech is getting back on track. And Oregon State beats a top 10 team. Those teams need to root for VaTech to the win the ACC and Oregon State to do really well in the Pac10. And, of course, Oregon or OSU to lose. If Oregon State could beat Oregon to win the Pac10 in the last week of the season, that would be a dream come true for TCU/Boise.
I also don't see how Les Miles lucked into this win. Other wins? Yes. But this one, LSU legitimately won. If any other team drives down the field to win in the last minute, including a fake field goal in the process (one they've used successfully in the past), people would say the coaching was great.
How that bounce pass from the holder to the kicker didn't go forwards or backwards is pure LUCK and the how the flip stayed completely lateral in the air was it's own LUCK. That play is one of the luckiest things i've seen, now the rest of the drive was just good execution.
When you convert a fake FG in the final minute that the other team clearly should have been prepared for, it was pure luck. It wasn't buffoonery like last week. But, yes, Les Miles definitely lucked into this win. This opinion has nothing to do with Les Miles being involved. Florida shouldn't have rushed the kick so hard. Their ends should have been hanging back. Florida player #1 never should have crossed the line of scrimmage going after the block. Another lucky coaching blunder by the opponent benefits Les Miles. How does saying go? Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
Not really - it would have been bad luck if it had gone forward. But it's a play they practice all the time, and one they've run (for a TD) in the past. It's not like they just drew it up on the spot. It was certainly thrown a little forward of the target, which is why it bounced. But that's the nature of the sport - they made the play, no matter how ugly it looked. As the kicker said in the postgame - they didn't plan to fake it until they saw the way Florida was lined up. They called the timeout and then called the fake as a result. So yeah, Florida was stupid - but LSU then took advantage of it. It's like saying a team got lucky because their opponent stupidly ran a prevent defense which allowed them to move the ball and score. That may all be true, but the point is that the team still has to take advantage of whatever the other team does. They did so and scored a TD. The fake got about 5 yards, but they still ran a bunch of other plays to move 80 yards down the field in about a minute.
