Only if Bradford and Broyles come back and both are 100% is this even remotely possible. And it's still just that, remote. The OL, tight end, and receivers need more time and exp. If UT doesn't win the RRS this year, they should really be ashamed. No pressure. I think it was mostly the Big XII defenses that were overrated last year. Now the offenses have come to join the party. lol
You can guarantee Mack will be relaying that point for sure. Expect dirty cheap shots and flops by their punter.
eh, I guess... I have a hard time getting fired up about UT when I know a MNC is now out of the question. Will be good for a lot of the young guys to get much needed big game exp for a solid push next year, though.
So the answer is to just mail it in and run draws over and over on third down? That comparison is ridiculous, Landry Jones is a capable quarterback who didn't make stupid plays and should have had the ball in his hands on third downs. And don't act like Ryan Broyles is the only receiver on the team who can catch the ball or get open, OU is consistently in the top 10 in recruiting, they have other guys capable of stepping in. OU is down this year because of injuries, but they would still be winning games like this if they'd open up the playbook a little bit.
Yeah, lets just take what you know OU "consistently" does over what I've seen with my own two eyes all year. The talent out their currently for us at OB, WR, and TE is not capable of overcoming our OL's complete inability to handle a pash rush from a competent defensive line. "Opening up the playbook" might have helped, but I'm betting it would have = INTs and sacks tonight. We were trying to play a field position game and we lost.
So they don't consistently have top 10 recruiting classes year in and year out? Cameron Kinney was wide open all night too, could've tried to go to him a little more.
I'm telling you man, with a decent O line, you're probablly right. The talent is there. but these guys collectively suck when getting rushed. Jones panics, most of the receivers just do not have the experience yet to get open in time, the TE is either missing his blocking assignment or not getting into his route in time... I mean, even on plenty of occasions where Kenny was open, Pornstache was just chucking the ball anywhere because he mentally can't handle a rush yet, or he was taking a sack. Talent is one thing, but the experience to know what to do in these types of situations was not on that field tonight. Maybe they could have learned some lessons by opening up the playbook a bit, but the current NCAA football system isn't really conducive to teaching those lessons at the risk of Ws. The coaces went the safe route, and almost got a win out of it. It honestly went better than a lot of us up here would have figured with Broyles being out.

Since when does anyone type out the "Others receiving votes" footnote. So weird I've never seen a little #36 next to any team name while they are playing.
Chill the **** out. I'm glad he posted the rest, I wanted to see how far UH had fallen out of the top 25.
Bama has looked better than Texas. USC lost to a pretty bad team and their QB has never looked good contrary to what ESPN will tell you, they should be 15 right behind Penn State, Oregon should be below 15. Boise (sigh) should be ahead of VTECH. Miami should be ahead of TOSU. Ok State should be lower, probably like 19.
Bama has looked better than Texas on defense... Texas is just struggling with consistency on defense right now, they play it for one half with the higher scoring teams and then let up in another half... They pretty much shut down the teams they were supposed to... On offense, you can argue that Texas is better. Regardless though, Texas should be ahead, that shouldn't be a question.
Not that I think Boise is a top 5 team, but how do you lose a spot after a win especially when the team that jumped you barely won against Duke . Any other team and it wouldn't happen. Boise got in the top 5 and shouldn't be losing spots after a win.
