Mike Gundy has always seemed like a jabroni to me. I think his big win over Georgia could be one of those wins that seems great when it happens but turns out to be nothing special. Think of UCLA beating Tennessee last year (OMG UCLA IS BACK! No, it just turns out that TN stinks right now.). I'm not saying Georgia is going to royally suck this year, but they look to be mediocre at best.
Miami's got a 4-game losing streak to Ga Tech. Last year the Hurricanes lost 41-23 in Atlanta as the Jackets, led by Jonathan Dwyer, ran for 472 yards. New DC for Miami this year. The game tonight is at Miami, first home game of the year and should be exciting. QB Jacory Harris looks to follow up his national breakout game against FSU, where he threw for 386 yards, 10th most all time for Hurricanes' single game performances. Miami is favored at -5.5 Other than that, the UT @ UF game should be a blowout. Whoever wins, I'd be happy.
Those big meaningless wins happen in bulk this time every year. You could be right. And calling Gundy a jabroni? PERFECT word! I can see it. OSU has a solid line on both sides of the ball. They should be more imposing than they are.
Hey, as a UCA alum, I'm all for the Hogs playing ASU when ASU starts playing UCA! Stop running Indians!
They did play UCA several years ago. It's the Red Wolves now and not the Indians. I wish they would play each other just to shut all these Red Wolf fans up.
Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. I knew they were the Red Wolves. They played UCA twice in the mid 90s (both in Jonesboro) and won 17-7 and 36-35. They quit playing them because they almost got beat by a Division II school at home (if you go back to the 20s-40s, UCA has an all time 12-9-2 record against ASU ) Now that UCA has moved up to I-AA they should set up a series in War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock and play it every year. It would be the biggest crowd that either ever gets in the state of Arkansas. From a financial standpoint, I think it makes a lot of sense for both teams.
I just tuned in and watched the Canes drive to make it 31-10. Jacory Harris is worth keeping an eye on. He's the kind of player that, by himself, makes the Canes worth watching.
If they can win next week @VaTech, they have a legitimate shot of going 12-0 or 11-1. They face an OU team with a questionable Bradford the week after (starting their season with 3 ACC opponents and 4 ranked teams), and then their schedule is a joke after that.
Hey guys, Anyone interested in Texas vs Tech ticket? I have to miss it cause I have work. These are senior seats Section 27 Row 29 This is a nice lower deck seat at about the 30 yard line. $120 obo send me a pm if interested
Agreed 100% 20-25, 270 yards, 3 TD's, 0 INT's as "The U" beats another ranked opponent. .....yeah, you might want to keep an eye on this guy!
pre-season all you heard is how their first 4 games are brutal, they look like they can compete with anyone, they're fun to watch too
Harris very well might be the guy that puts Miami back on the map and returns them to elite status. If/when that happens, all I have to say is: it's about time! Seriously, aside from USC, is there an easier sell in college football than the University of Miami? "Dear five-star recruit, How would you like to play college football in Miami for 'NFL U'....inside an NFL stadium....for a historic program....living amongst celebrities.....uhh, 10 minutes away from fricken South Beach? Any questions?"
Da U is (on their way) back!! I know Randy's going to have this team competing every week and staying HUMBLE. Jacory makes playing QB look so easy. Next week @ Blacksburg will be another huge test. First time this program has had back to back wins against ranked opponents since 2003. That is the stat of the night. And Jimmy Graham got a TD! If you are unfamiliar with him, look him up! He's the guy who held Psycho T to 8 points last year (Yes, Tyler Hansbrough)!
I've heard that their facilities suck. Plus Florida is a much easier sell and I would put Texas in front of them too. Who doesn't want to live in Austin ? I'm surprised that Alabama has been getting such good recruiting classes. Saban knows how to run a program.
