I don't care if OSU runs the table from here, USC loses twice, and there are no undefeated teams, like last year. There shouldn't be any freakin' way voters let them anywhere near the top of the polls after this. No more backing in because of the weak ass Big 10 and no conference title game. I'm not saying they had to win tonight, but they at least needed to show a pulse. Please voters, I beg of you... no matter what happens the rest of the season, don't let this group anywhere near the NC game.
****ing disgrace. Ohio State football should be placed on sanctions and forfeit all Top 25 eligibility until they prove that they belong in there. Absolutely ****ing pathetic. This coming from an Ohio State fan who sees too much John Cooper in Jim Tressel now. Not EVER ready to play the big game. ****ing embarassing. Big 10 football is down in the dumps, and Ohio State is the king of that ****ing turdpile. Ridiculous
Switch it over to FSU/Wisconsin on the Deuce. Much better game (I'm guessing) and the atmosphere in Fresno is great.
This is what I've been saying for a while now. The Big 10 blows(see Michigan get pwned by ND). Had the game been competitive maybe one could say they missed Beanie Wells and USC had homefield.... but this is an embarrassment. No excuse for this one. I thought Florida and LSU, the only two good teams they played for the past 2yrs proved this. They can't hang with that type of competition. I hope everyone sees the fraud that this team and the Big 10 is. USC is an SEC elite caliber team along the likes of Florida, Georgia, and LSU. Ohio St shouldn't be in the BCS system. To the voters.... Please let this be a lesson. If OSU has to play a Bowl Game, make it the Cereal Bowl vs Montana Community College of Culinary Arts, since that's the type of competition they're used to. I hope to see USC vs Georgia, like we shoulda seen last year.
November 22nd should be awesome...take one of the better rivalries in the country in Utah v BYU, and add the fact that once you look at these guys' schedules, both teams should be undefeated going into that game (the last game of the season for both teams). That being said, keeping the Mountain West out of the BCS is a good general rule. Nobody has to play anybody...granted, BYU tried to bump up their out-of-conference schedule by playing UCLA & Washington while Utah played Michigan, but neither team has a single real opponent after that time.
Georgia is going to mop the floor with them, and I thought that before ASU's embarrassing loss to UNLV. That's not to say I think that UGA is the best team in the nation- but they have loads of talented, and the Sun Devils have been insanely overrated since last season's run through a weak schedule. Stafford did impress me some yesterday. Conversely, their secondary left something to be desired.
Classic look-ahead game. Didn't think they would lose, but figured UNLV would give them a game. I just don't see the playmakers on Georgia. They're mediocre on offense, and quite frankly, I just don't see how they can keep up in a game against a strong offensive opponent where they would need to score 35+ points to win, like I think they will in the desert. Really, UGA and ASU's performances yesterday weren't all that different. The difference is, UGA had the absurd break of the USC player fumbling inside the one. ASU didn't catch that break. I still think Arizona State wins.
Georgia is going to destroy Arizona State. That UNLV team that just beat them is absolutely terrible. They looked like a high school team. ASU cannot block, and the D-linemen at Georgia are all a whole hell of a lot bigger and faster than the scrubs at UNLV. It is going to be UGLY for ASU.
Keep your day job. UGA showed me two playmakers today, one of whom will definitely play on Sundays in a couple of years: QB Matt Stafford and freshman WR A.J. Green Moreno isn't a bad RB either. They totally outclassed ASU. If it weren't for their schedule, UGA would have a decent chance at making the BCS championship game. As it is, they play in the sadistic SEC.
Yup, I whiffed on this big time. My biggest mistake, though, was assuming this Arizona State team was comparable to last year's version. I should've seen it coming after ASU lost to UNLV, but I'm stubborn sometimes. I'm still not impressed by UGA at all, and I think they'll lose three games, two at a minimum. The playcalling is uncreative, and Stafford is rather stiff and locks onto his primary reads for far too long. On the other hand, Arizona State... awful. Poor line play, and even worse playcalling -- why on earth this team was running the ball in the second half when it averaged negative yards per rush and was trailing by two possessions I'll never understand. Throw the damn football -- it's your bread and butter. They've regressed a lot. Georgia reminds me of Ohio State. They're a good team with good line play, but against elite opponents, I don't see the offensive creativity that would allow them to score the 35 points it would take against a legit team (USC, OU, Missouri, etc.). I wouldn't be shocked if they lose to Alabama, but I'm not going to predict it this time -- I've got a hunch Alabama is a little overrated too, and Athens on a Saturday night is a tough place to play.
I agree, Georgia didn't really impress me yesterday. They need to execute on offense better but AJ Green is a stud! I think Florida and maybe Texas have been more impressive than Georgia so far this season.
I sure hope the Alabama vs UGA is on TV next week. For that matter, I hope at least 2 SEC games are on TV every week until things shake out. I can't get enough of that conference. I knew LSU/Auburn wouldn't top their incredible game last year, but it was still a barn-burner. When Auburn was up 14-3 and had the ball deep in LSU territory in the 3rd quarter, I thought the game was over. It was nice to see Notre Dame lose again. But I now want Charlie Weiss to win enough games every year to keep his job because they won't return to prominence with him as coach. Bill Stewart proved beyond any doubt he isn't up to being a head coach at a big time school. You wanna talk about unimaginative play calling, he is king. And their clock management at the end of regulation was atrocious. When both announcers question your judgment and the players have blank looks on their faces before the game is over, there is a problem. WVU made a bad decision because Stewart is going to run their program into the ground. I hate to see Pat White waste his senior year.
