I wasn't watching this game, but why did OU decide to rekick instead of declining the penalty? You're not going to do much better than downing the ball at the 15.
Watching the disgust on Stoops face after the punt return was priceless. He was certainly asking himself the same question. The guy actually fielding and returning the re-kick seemed to surprise OU's players and it was off to the races.
LOL was just about to post this. Well done. Tonight is very interesting. Baylor looks...solid? Looks like they're taking care of business but not in the dominating fashion they need. Maybe they pick it up in the 2nd half. Ohio State is looking terrific and making themselves a huge case. Absolutely dominating closing argument for them. FSU is basically FSU-ing like they always do. If they win, they're getting in, though, and rightfully so.
The OU loss could come back to bite TCU. With the way tOSU is looking now, if FSU holds on, I could see them jumping TCU.
I don't think the OU game will have any impact. OU's playing a backup QB and their whole season is different these last few weeks than when TCU/Baylor played them. OSU is interesting. They have a case over TCU because they could argue they have better wins. But they really don't have a case over Baylor - Baylor has better wins and a better loss and a tougher schedule. But TCU is above Baylor for whatever stupid reason. It makes the whole thing very bizarre.
It's looking more and more likely that both TCU and Baylor will be left out of the playoff. The Ohio St - Wisconsin game is over; that game is a complete demolition. And unless Ga Tech can find a defense, FSU is probably going to pull away in the second half. Get a real championship game, Big 12.
I could easily see the committee putting OSU in the top 4. It will let them off the hook from having to make a call on the Baylor-TCU situation.
The way Ohio State is beating the snot out of Wisconsin, it would be hard to argue Baylor should pass them because of tonight's results.
The OU loss takes a top 20 win off of both TCU and Baylor's resume. If results hold, I think the Big XII gets shut out of the playoff.
Agreed - Baylor should have never been behind them in the first place, but the committee has made a mess for themselves with their previous rankings. The committee has stated that they view games in context rather than just the end results on paper. If that's the case, then what OU does now with a backup QB shouldn't be relevant. Then again, the committee has said a lot of things and changed their mind.
If context matters, then OSU deserves somewhat of a pass for losing to VT with a brand new QB. It's hard to argue against OSU being included. Who else is playing better than them right now? They are whooping the #13 ranked team in the country in a championship game. Sheer dominance.
Baylor not making the statement they need to, especially with the way Ohio State is playing. Tomorrow's going to be INTERESTING. Wish Auburn was apart of the madness.
Depends on how you define "right now". The last two weeks, OSU looked less-than-impressive against terrible Indiana and Michigan teams, trailing or tied late in the 3rd quarter. They certainly look crazy good today, though.
Up 18 in the 3rd against the #9 team in the country. Certainly more impressive than FSU look right now.
True. FSU looking shaky as ever right now. Georgia Tech running all over them tonight. But FSU is getting in if they win. Not much of a question.
