I think they can do it. I wish the game was at Robertson, but UH seems to bring out their best games when they play a tough opponent.
Don't throw the stat card and then leave. Please elaborate. What are these stats? Keep in mind when TCU schedules a Division 2 school like Texas St., it's going to inflate their stats. Feel free to find Strength of schedule rankings that put TCU ahead of Texas. Here are some I came across. (Texas SOS) (TCU SOS) CBS (41) (68) Massey (30) (60) Colley Matrix (54) (95) sagarin (49) (84) Anderson & Hester (48) (64) Points Per game Offense Texas 3rd, TCU 4th, Defense TUC 6th, Texas 9th Considering the consistently wide difference in SOS between TCU and Texas, you don't have anything to brag about since TCU only is 3 places ahead of Texas in Defenses.
TCU has a lower ranked schedule than Texas and has close (less than 10 point) wins over powerhouses Air Force and Clemson.
Clemson is a borderline top 25 team...and they played them at Clemson. Air Force game was also played in some miserable weather conditions (icy, misty, windy). TCU was also in control the entire game. close games to TT and A&M aren't much to brag about either.
My office is nuts today. Several folks just left in a caravan to Eugene for the game. Everyone's wearing green or orange. People are randomly yelling out Beavers! or Ducks! at the top of their lungs.
Wouldn't Texas be in the Fiesta Bowl if they lose the Big 12? It would be nice to see them in a different game, but these games still have conference ties.
I think Nebraska would go to the Fiesta b/c of the Big 12 Championship and Texas would go to the Orange as an at-large bid.
Oh yeah. Forgot about the team that actually beats Texas. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DhrfhjLd9e4&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DhrfhjLd9e4&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
My boss just came by and asked if I was a Beaver or a Duck. When I responded Beaver, she said, OK, go home early. When my neighbor responded Duck, she said piled a bunch of make work on him and told him to stay until it's finished. She was kidding on both counts... I think.
