That call of a late hit on Nebraska was utter BS, and gave A&M the game. Very very poorly officiated. And the guy that Pelini was screaming at is my neighbor...lol. DD
Another thing to consider for A&M, if they finish right behind OU in the BCS rankings, they will win the Big 12 south title via their head to head tiebreaker. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game, unless two of the tied teams are ranked within one spot of the other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game. http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=1546006
I hope so, but I'm not sure it will be. Longhorn fans have pissed me off this year, and I can easily see a lot of them not showing up for this game just because we haven't had a good season. I've seen a ton of "A&M game tickets for sale!" Facebook statuses and I think there will be an unexpectedly large amount of maroon in the stands on Thursday. I hate A&M, but I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't jealous of their crowd tonight. 15,000 less people than at DKR, but 10x louder.
Just got done watching the game ... definitely a bad call on that last hit. Still think A&M would have won as our D and O was really playing better at that point in the game, but of course you never know. I certainly understand Nebraska fans being upset at that call and it had a huge effect on the game, but what didn't help them was Pelini going ape-**** the entire game when none of the calls were really that questionable. I think he really turned the refs against him and they were going to give every break to A&M at that point. This was a huge win for A&M and the atmosphere looked amazing all the way to the post-game celebration. We seriously need some wins like this to turn recruiting around a bit. Prior to the turnaround this year, we hadn't won a game on TV in like 2 years which did not help recruiting at all. Texas is helping our recruiting as well with the horrible fan support they've had when they are down.
Wow just saw this... <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZE0SCF218Uc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZE0SCF218Uc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> A&M player gives the Husker a handjob, Husker player kicks him off. Nebraska D-Coordinator leaving the field as classy as as his brother was the whole game ... <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjTf1VoUZ_c?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjTf1VoUZ_c?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I don't know if there is a more unlikeable coach in the country then Bo Pelini. I was rooting for the Huskers (sorry Aggies, nothing personal... just bitter about our season and your good year) but that man made it nearly impossible.
His jawing at the officials and his own players....just insane. Seems to run in the family (the anger issues...)
I'm hoping there'll be a lot of maroon. Just to add to the atmosphere. UT fans in general (there are still die hards) have been quite the fair weather fans this year....
It'll be the normal atmosphere of a Texas-Texas A&M game regardless of Texas' record. The rivalry game itself is probably the biggest game that's in Austin every year... bandwagon or not... the student section will show up and that's the main part of the atmosphere. The game tonight had a lot of empty sections though. Anyways. On to what Musburger and Herbstreit were talking about with Boise possibly jumping TCU. I think that if Boise beats Nevada next week, that they should definitely jump TCU. That Virginia Tech win for Boise is looking quite good now with the way Virginia Tech has been playing... and they also beat Oregon State as did TCU. This Nevada game (if they win by a fair margin) decides whether they should jump TCU in the BCS standings.
I hope you are a current Texas student/alumni, b/c I dont know what is worst "Tshirt Texas fans" or Houstonians that root for the Cowgirls...
Yep, it should be a fun one. It always brings an extra spark to the atmosphere, when I used to live in College Station that town was crazy the day of the game. It's my favorite thing to watch during thanksgiving. Could careless about the NFL games that day...cowboys...meh. I'm just in awe with how the Aggies have turned it around....they did a 180.
I don't think Nebraska got a fair shake. Lotsa penalties man. Couldn't all be legit... but Pelini didn't help his cause by going ape **** on everybody. Compound that with leaving the Big 12... Oh well. Crossing my fingers we somehow make it to the title game.
Coaches Poll: 1. Oregon (48) 2. Auburn (4) 3. Boise State (5) 4. TCU (2) 5. Wisconsin 6. LSU 7. Ohio State 8. Stanford 9. Oklahoma State 10. Michigan State 11. Alabama 12. Arkansas 13. Oklahoma 14. Virginia Tech 15. Nebraska 16. Missouri 17. South Carolina 18. Texas A&M 19. Nevada 20. Arizona 21. Florida State 22. Utah 23. North Carolina State 24. Iowa 25. Mississippi State
Wow - of the top 19 teams in the country, only Nebraska lost this week - and that was to another of the top 19 teams. (The #20, #21, and #22 teams also all lost to top-15 teams.)
