Having San Diego St ranked for next week would also be huge. They're sitting at 27 in the coaches poll right now.

So if everyone in the top 5 wins out, except bama beats auburn, does Wisconsin jump TCU and Boise to play in the title game?

Doubt it. TCU has proved enough to stay in front of a team like Wisconsin who has a loss.

But I hope to god Auburn wins. TCU won't be able to handle Oregon like Auburn will in the national championship game.

Auburn gave up more points to I-AA Chattanooga than TCU has in all 6 of its Mountain West games combined. Auburn's defense is horrendous.

If there's any defense in the country that can slow down the Oregon offense, it would be TCU.

By handle you mean outscore? They won't be slowing them down any.

TCU has the defense to handle Oregon. The D-line and LB's are so solid to match up with the run game of Oregon. TCU easily handled the #1 run team in the nation.

This is so true. I was at the game and it was the best college game experience that I've had do far.

I see LSU hopped up in the rankings. Any chance they can still get into the title game?

The Longhorns are making it tough to live amongst all these Duck fans... particularly after the trash talking I did last year. I'm getting really sick of the "O" sign they do with their hands. It wouldn't be so bad, except they constantly do it around the office... and on Fridays they do it clad in obnoxious yellow and green garb.

I'll be definitely be rooting for the Beavers to take the Civil War.

Geez, let them have their moment. It's the first time in history they've been number 1.

Why do you keep saying that? What makes you think they can't hang with Oregon?

TCU only has the Nations #1 defense...rushing...pass...total....

Go Bama....kick the **** out of Auburn. ;)

Kansas would have the nations #1 defense if they played the cupcakes TCU plays. Tap on the breaks here, Utah isn't the world beater y'all are making them out to be. You haven't beaten anyone worth a damn.

Give TCU credit for dominating the cupcakes, it's no easy task to dominate the way they've been dominating, but don't get ahead of yourself and say they can hang with an Auburn, Oregon, or any of the SEC front runners. That remains to be seen.

WTF are you talking about? "disaster waiting to happen"? He freaking shredded a good OU defense. With the exception of Nebraska, OU has as good a D as we'll see all year. He remained poised, never got shaken after they knocked him around, and he stepped up when it counted, made good reads, and came through for us. He's a baller, 1000 times better than Jerrod ever was. If Sherman didn't ditch the run in the 3rd, we would've never hit that rough patch.

For his 2nd start ever as a qb, I don't see what more you could ask of him. He'll only get better with more snaps. Come on Zigs

Correcting myself. I don't think TCU has the #1 Rush defense....thought I heard it in a game. Trying to look up stats though...

sooo...let's see it. I have no doubt they can hang with one of those teams in a bowl game / national championship.

We'll never know if they don't play each other. TCU hasn't been a push over when they play some of the "big boy" conference teams.

lol.... #1 defense doesn't apply when you haven't played any big programs... the wussed out in scheduling. TCU won't hang with Oregon or Auburn if they make it.
