Were the hell is our pass rush?????? At least we're on the board. Not totally worried yet, after all this is the same team that lost 30-3 @ Colorado. And Grham threw like 4 picks against mizzou.
it f'in blows is what I hope DesertScar gets in this thread soon, I had an issue with him in the other nebraska thread where he thinks that Chizik and the D scheme were perfectly fine and that there was nothing wrong with it...he basically said that the reason we've given up so many big pass plays this entire year is because of individual player mistakes only well I'm sorry, I thought that was BS in the other thread and I sure as hell think it's wrong now in the Tech game. this isn't only due to player mistakes, it's the scheme as well
No way in hell UT will be ranked 2 even if everything you said happens. I think there are at least five teams better than Texas even if those teams dd have one loss. I think UT would have had a better chance if any if they had a convincing win against Nebraska, but they barely won
i've never been as big a fan of chizik as some, and this game isn't helping any. we keep blitzing and the blitz never ever gets there. it just leaves some easy short pass (because we back way the hell off on blitzes) that tech never misses. like that 3rd and 3 before the TD before the half. it would've been perfect to fake the blitz and drop right back in that area where the pass came. i'm not saying he throws the pick but maybe it throws harrell off a little and we stop them somewhere else. blitzing 6 and never getting there is going to get us killed. and continously rushing 4 and not covering is as well. the pass rush isn't even close to getting to them and the only time it is are on screen passes that we just go flying by. we might wanna start rushing 3 or so. harrell is on pace for 720 yards. that will be a sad day in UT history if he gets there and leave chizik with a lot of explaining to do. there is no way tcu and colorado have better athletes available to cover tech. this is coaching. we'll just have to pray for more turnovers like that weird fumble they had (of course after a 20 yard gain) because we aren't stopping them.
And why is that? So far, Texas has only lost to the #1 team in the nation. (Let's forget about this game for the second.) None of the other 1-loss teams can say that. (Michigan may have a case after their bout with Ohio State, though.) Besides, it's better to lose early than late.
Texas got dominated by Ohio State. If those 2 teams ended up in the national championship together, it would be another blowout. They should at least let a team who hasnt gottn a crack at OS try to beat them. Also, who else has UT played besides Ohio State, they have not really been tested besides that game?
I wouldn't call 24 - 7 a blowout. They played Ohio State closer than anyone else has this season. Not a nailbiter in the end, but not a blowout either. And UT has played 2 other teams that were ranked in the top 20, Oklahoma and Nebraska. If they beat A&M, that will be a 3rd win over a top-25 team. And the Big XII championship game could give them another top-25 opponent. What other contenders would be able to claim as many wins over ranked teams? Obviously the undefeated winners of the Big X and the Big East would have an edge on those 2 spots, but if a 1-loss team makes the championship game, I'd think the defending national champs have an argument to be included.
