Offense, defense, whatever the reason, he'll get blamed for the loss. And if they win because of the offense, he won't get any credit. He's the GW Bush of this forum.

I'd say Applewhite was an overachiever, off the top of my head.

Also, I don't get all the premature praise for the UT RBs. One game against La Lafayette? I'll be surprised if Young doesn't lead the team in rushing.

How many top 5 finishes did we get in those years? It's only being 30 years, and there are more than 30 pristine programs out there. Just because we didn't get to number 1 doesn't mean we aren't a good team. Btw, how many top 5 finishes did A&M have in the past 10 years?

I have been listening to sports talk radio since the late 70's, and if I had a dollar for every time a shorthorner called in predicting a national championship for TU, I would have the equivalent of the Gross Domestic Product of a mid-sized EU country.

We had the youngest receiver core last season and they are still very young, they are all freshman/sophomores. Our receivers aren't going to blow to the top off the game and chances are that they will make mistakes.

However, I would say Ramonce Taylor is an overacheiver on offense. Fastest guy on the team and a little under 6 foot. He has a lot of versatility on the field, kinda like a Reggie Bush-light.

So what if a couple people on SportsRadio predict us as contendors? It's just a couple people's opinion, and we've had enough talent throughout the years to make a liable run.

BTW, since I've been living in Austin, I can say there have been very few to predict us as National Champs. Much to my dismay, it's been Miami, OU, USC, and Ohio State getting a lot of the predictions, you very rarely hear (except for this season) that we have actual contendors. Care to exaggerate anymore?

Still no takers as gametime approaches.....

I thought surely there would be a Texas fan with some confidence.

^ I could have sworn Riet was going to take your bet. But it does keep on changing from UT losing by 30, to UT losing by 3.5, and now UT winning/losing by 7+ points. Losing confidence maybe? ;)

    7 is more than 3.5....

so if anything my confidence level is going up.

I think its likely to be an OSU blowout, but it seems silly to give a lot of points on a bet when Vegas has it as pretty much a pick em game.

The point spread is based on the average people betting on each side which is basically 50/50.

Since you're so confident that Ohio State is so much better, you should give more odds than merely a touchdown.

For example, let's say Ohio State beats UT 17 -10. Would that be congruent with your claim that UT is way overrated? No.

Even if Ohio State wins 20-10, or even 27-10, it still wouldnt be consistent with your belief of how overrated this team is. Good teams lose all the the time by those scores.

Only if Ohio State beats UT by a score of 31-0, or 35-3, would your assessment have validity.

That's why you should give more points which has nothing to do with the Vegas odds.

Tell you what RIET if you want 10 points I'll give you 10.....

I don't think OST would get much more than 10 against any top 25 school. Certainly a #2 ranked team losing by more than 10 points against a lower ranked school would be overrated doncha think.

Actually, since I am about through talking smack on this game and about to start watching it. I'll make a bet even a Longhorn fan will have the nads to make.

If OST wins by 7 or more...I'll get nothing

If Texas wins or comes closer than a TD...I'll let any Texas fan on this board change my sig. (Ya'll can vote on who comes up with the best one)

Its kind of a nothing bet really, since you guys have no risk.....and well, frankly I am taking no risk, because Texas has no chance....

Young running like no other! 52yards rushing already for Vince...

NO Passing game so far, but Young's feet are doing the job early...not his hands.

    Lucky there, fumble!!!!!!!!!
