Some facts to consider: 1) Rice sucks. 2) UH is nationally ranked. 3) If UH had not pulled the proverbial plug at halftime, Rice would have lost by 100 points. 4) You apparently know nothing about sports. Discuss.
I thought they were about to go Andre Ware and company on them. UH led that game 59-14 at the half on the way to 95 points and passing for something close to 800 yards. They had 2nd and 3rd stringers in by the 2nd quarter, I think.
Ware played the first half, Klingler the second. They were red shirting their other QBs. I believe the majority of Houston's starting defense only played the first series. They were also red shirting their RBs, so Weatherspoon and Kimble Anders played. Kind of hard to not score with Ware Klingler, Anders and Weatherspoon as your primary offensive weapons.
Yeah, that's part of the problem with the offense - if they are so far ahead, they rest him. I think had he played all the minutes he would easily be by that mark.
Two 100 yard rushers and only 14 points, all off the Cougars' second team defense. Wow...that is AWFUL!!!!!
thanks. like i said in a post from a few days ago, being a Rice fan you learn quickly how to spot silver linings. Ross is a freshman and Smith is a RS sophomore - add McGuffie and Cook to the mix and that's a decent core of skill players. I won't get into it too much here, but with as many question as we have on the OL and defensive side of the ball, there's a good chance that the additions of Cook and McGuffie are only going to make an atrocious team into a merely "bad" one. I feel bad for the seniors, having to go out like this, especially after the high of the 2008 season. Toren Dixon, JT Shep, Fang etc are all class acts and deserve better. I'm willing to give Bailiff one more year, but the OC, DC, and the rest of the staff has got to go STAT. hopefully we'll decide on a new AD soon and he won't be afraid to do some thorough housecleaning. I think every Rice fan knew we'd take a step back this year (how could we not after 2008?), but all the excitement and good-will built up on campus and around the city has been completely squandered this season. Anyhow, props to the Coogs on a resounding victory...I don't think there's anything to say that wasn't already said on the field. On another note, Rice volleyball is in the NCAAs for the 3rd straight time and Men's BBall is 4-1 and plays UT tomorrow at 3pm at Rice (Houston-area Clutchfans are encouraged to attend and wear white in support of the Owls). *digs out Autry Army t-shirt* ps- enjoy the Bucket, Coogs, but we're keeping it's seat warm in our trophy case for next year
14-14 tie in the 2nd half. The half that matters... as long as you don't... you know... Get ass-blasted 59-0 in the 1st half.
What a great way to cap the regular season. Capturing the CUSA West division by taking a big ol' stanky cougar dook all over the owls faces to the tune of 73 points. The most points scored in a game by any college football team in 2009.
I called the over/under 72 points (check the other game thread) and UH to cover the 30 point spread. Imanoob, but college football seems a lot more easier to predict than NBA. NFL is easy for me so far (except for the over/under it's rigged too much). I get the spread right.
