I know that you are a little leery of the UH "neighborhood", but my 68 year old mother is coming to the game with me, and she has volunteered to escort you into the stadium so that you will be safe. She even says she will pick you up on Sunset, but that you should be careful not to be run over by a pack of Great Danes and Bichon Frises.
And UH beat Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, and SMU who all beat Rice. I'm not sure the common opponent argument is the way you want to go.
