Everything I have read says opposite. Is there a big chance that nobody knows nothing?

i have a hard time getting past some pac-10 schools not wanting a religious university. it's going to make it a little harder to root for ut if that's the direction they decide to go in.

Actually it looks like he's changing it.

We just went from "Texas willing to commit to 10-member Big 12" to "Texas committed to coming to the table"

...that brings nothing financially to the table and represents a net drain. If Baylor were Notre Dame, you think they would object?

does Everything = Joe Shad or something reported before Chip's first report this morning?

Exactly. And Beebe is talking about $17M over an *18 YEAR* contract. How much will the Big10/SEC deals be worth when they renegotiate? 50% more? Double?

I don't see any way it makes financial or academic sense to stay with a revamped BigXII.

then that's what should be stated. from what i've heard (and who knows how much of any of anything we've all heard is true) is that there were pac-10 schools who objected to baylor because it is a religious institution. if they're willing to use that as an excuse for one religious school and not another because the other brings more money, it makes them even worse in my eyes.

Was Shad saying everything that indicated half the Big XII was going to the Pac-10 last week, if so then yeah.

I don't really know what to think at the moment.

I see that as an excuse. The Pac 10 doesn't want Baylor even if Baylor went athiest tomorrow.

I'm not backing off this story about Texas willing to commit to a remodeled Big 12.

I can tell you guys that who I'm hearing from is a separate source from who Chip would be getting this from.

but why use that as an excuse? why can't the excuse be "we don't want baylor because they do not add anything to our conference"?

i hope madmax is right. it's purely for selfish reasons, but i really don't care about anything other than sports-related reasons. i just happen to like having ut, baylor, tech, and a&m in the same athletic conference.

From the CNBC article, there is a lot of real world, dollar and cents, sign on the dotted line stuff going on we won't know about, all the way down to local cable operators.

Contracts will have written. I assume Max is on the line with is lawyer buddies.

If the Big 12 minus 2 stays together, you have to think they will explore adding 2 schools.

Who would you all bet on?

Texas stands to make between $20 mil and $25 mil per yr under a proposed new TV pkg presented by Dan Beebe, plus UT's own network.

Utah to the Pac 10 is almost a foregone conclusion if the Pac 16 deal falls through.

I wonder what the pros/cons for Arkansas would be.
