Hoping the MWC can get a few more quality teams from the big12 mess. Adding Boise was a nice start to expanding the conference and hopefully getting the AQ BCS.

Here's to hoping they keep Baylor out of it....

Firm SEC offer or not isn't really the issue rt now (its expected) but will be if Monday rolls around and it's still not on the table

Ags are aware of every angle of this thing and will not allow themselves to end up in the same position as Missouri fell into

    My predictions:

Pac10: Adds Texas, Tech, OU, OSU, and Utah (16 schools)

SEC: Adds A&M and ???, eventually want FSU & Miami, so no other additions for now (14 schools). I don't see how they end up at 13 schools.

Big10: Adds Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Rutgers or Syracuse (14 schools)

MWC: Loses Utah, adds Kansas, KSU, and Mizzou (12 schools)

BigEast: Loses Rutgers or Syracuse - not sure who they add. I want to put Kansas here, but I don't know how that works logistically. The Big East really is all way east and would be a mess for Kansas.

I'm tempted to say Vandy and Maryland go to the B10 eventually as well to get to 16 members - they fit academically and start opening up the B10 southward, which was a stated goal. But I'm not sure that happens now, or what dominoes would come with that. I also don't have any idea where Baylor or ISU end up. Baylor could go to the SEC with A&M, but it doesn't seem likely - unless they do lose Vandy and need a private school replacement.

    Notre Dame may stay independent.

Vandy is like Rice in the old SWC; glad to be there and everyone is glad to get a W.

Kansas and Mizzou really fit nicely with the Big East; a lot of easy travel there really.

It would be a bad ass BB conference.

    Big East
    Cincinnati
    Connecticut
    Louisville
    Pittsburgh
    Rutgers
    South Florida
    Syracuse
    West Virginia

Unfortunately, it's all talk, and conferences aren't interested in "what ifs".

Baylor is seriously hosed in this situation. Sucks, but welcome to my world circa 1995.

What is your deal with posting the CURRENT configurations of different conferences? We know who is in the big east.

Yeah - I take back that Kansas would have travel issues. There are some close Big East members like Cinci and Marquette. So I could see Kansas going to the Big East to replace Syracuse or Rutgers, which potentially opens up a spot for Baylor in the MWC if they can ward of TCU's complaints.

Why does nearly every conference have one of those?

    The Cat,

Everything I'm hearing sounds bad for Mizzou. I know you have ties to that school. Can you tell me where you've heard otherwise? I really want to know what Mizzou's escape plan is.

Texas A&M regents have the votes to join the SEC and could announce that move as early as next week, sources tell Orangebloods.com

This is interesting. If I were on the Board of Regents, I would see what Slive has to say. If the deal does not sound as good financially as the Pac 10 deal or if the SEC requires __________ come with A&M, then I would call Larry Scott and tell him that if he stopped by College Station, he could have a signed deal.

The Slive visit was apparently the reason an emergency meeting of the Board of Regents was called.

I seriously doubt that Chip knows this to be true. Liucci is in a much better position to know this for a fact and he has not stated anything.
