Aha, select baseball, that is fun, my youngest is only 7, but he is headed that direction...

We are taking this summer off though....going to the UK for family fun.

Ndamukong Suh: I don't understand how my Nebraska, one of the corner stones of the big 8 and big 12 is going to leave and go to big 10 country!

Apparently, Big10 talks might still be on as well (as per TheCat's post yesterday). Really, the most disappointing outcome of all this (to me) at this point would be the B12 staying together. I'm excited about new opponents.

I disagree with the title of this thread and I think it makes all the argument only based on college football.

The conference realignment affects all sports, so why does the title only mention college football?

Kansas, K-State, and Baylor all have good basketball programs, this is going to change college basketball just as much as college football.

part of me feels that way. as a BU fan, i'd miss playing UT and A&M regularly in all sports.

Even from a person that doesn't follow college athletics much like myself knows that college football is a big cash cow for colleges, especially the elites.

Football is king so it'll be the main topic of the realignment regardless of the title. BTW, basketball has been mentioned multiple times in this thread.

And coming from a school that was one of the founders of the Pac-10 and the Pacific Coast Conference going all the way back to 1915 I don't want to be in a conference that now includes Texas and Oklahoma.

I have a close friend born and raised in Colorado who is a CU grad. He is pissed about this. He doesn't like the Pac 10...likes CU's connections to the old Big 8 (via the Big XII)...and is upset his team was the first to bolt.

My question is, when does this begin to effect scheduling? Do the currently scheduled intra-conference games get scrapped when the deal goes through?

Why wouldn't the SEC be calling on Texas, Texas A&M, OU, etc...I'm sure they have, but I would rather them be there than the f'n Pac-10...

I have to believe the SEC is the better option...
