I texted my cousins & friends that went to A&M about how I'm going to miss the increasing rivalry.

At least, we have a couple of more years left of it.

Numerous times. One of my brothers lives in LA.

I just don't see how it is relevant to athletics.

While we're focusing solely on the athletics aspect of the realignment, the presidents have to look at how the realignment would affect the Pac-10 as a whole which includes examining how Baylor would fit it from an academics and cultural standpoint.

Baylor's religious committment does not fit in the Pac-10's liberal culture. The fact that Baylor requires their professors to attend church is a prime example of that.

BTW, I don't think "religion" was or will be the deciding factor on their inclusion. But it could have been a factor none the less.

Honestly, this is the first time I'm hearing this. I remember a prof or two that were of other faiths but maybe I was mistaken.

Look, if Baylor gets excluded partially because of their religious beliefs, then they really have no beef.

They are a religious institution, and are proud of that fact, if others do not share their feelings they should not be upset.

Nothing wrong with Baylor and their religious stance, just as there is nothing wrong with people choosing to exclude them because of it.

What I actually hope happens is that UT and OU form an uber conference.

Resurrect the SWC........bring it back baby !!

I would be SOOOO down for that, and would love to see the new stadium...I almost took the boys down to see a baseball game....but alas....we played teh wii instead.

    :)

I have wanted to give back a bit to the University but their alumni programs are so lame....

I would love to meet up with you down there, and Max too.....

Isn't little league over Max, or are you guys doing the all star thing?

I've got someone telling me that A&M already has an offer from the SEC.

And this was just posted to SI.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/andy_staples/06/10/aggies.options/

A source confirmed to SI.com late Wednesday that emissaries from the SEC initiated discussions with Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne months ago, and while the SEC is just one of several potential options for the Aggies, it remains an option heading into Thursday's meeting between Texas A&M and Texas officials. At the meeting, power brokers from both schools will discuss a last-ditch effort to save the Big 12, even if Nebraska's Board of Regents votes Friday to leave for the Big Ten. "It's on life support," the source said of the Big 12. "But people have come off life support before."

A&M should go to the SEC and just create an agreement to do home&home with Texas every year or every other year.

I mean, Texas has never had a problem padding their out of conference schedule with patsies so why should it be a problem?
