Here's something crazy to consider. In the Colley Matrix, one of the computer polls that goes into the BCS formula, if Hawaii beats Cinci tonight, the rankings end up (just in this one computer poll): Florida, Texas, OU. If Cinci wins, the rankings end up: OU, Texas, Florida.
That would make sense, because OU previously beat Cincinnati and Texas beat OU. So a Cincinnati win would help increase the rankings of both teams, while a Cincinnati loss would diminish OU's strength of schedule compared to Texas.
you don't see how the highest scoring team ever could win a shootout with florida? i'm seeing some negative momentum divergence from reality right there . now i hope FLA drills ou into the dirt and wins 59 to -4, but ou averages like 54 ppg, they can keep up with anyone. it will all be about pressure on bradford. he doesn't handle it well. when he has time to eat a sandwich, they can't be stopped. get pressure and he falls way off, certainly more than guys like mccoy and tebow under pressure. if ou plays D like any game but tonight and against tech, florida will score huge points and if florida gets any stops, they'll win, but i'm worried about it. as for Big 12 O's and SEC D's, the Big 12's QB's make a huge difference. a guy who can stay out of mistakes and also make big plays and quick decisions is such a value to a team and the Big 12 has it all over the conference. and the SEC has like 2 qb's. certainly watching mizzou play absolutely no D whatsoever, it's hard to argue it's all OU's offense (any semblance of D should be able to do better than that), but the Big 12 offenses aren't fake. i was going to point out that the Big 12 is #1 in the sagarin ratings while the SEC is #2 but apparently the friggin' ACC is actually #1 so i guess those ratings are worthless.
Another thing to make this weeks coach poll interesting and which might make some changes in rankings is that this is the week it goes public i think, so everyone can see which coaches are ranking reasonably or not.
I am yet a believer of Florida's D. Who exactly have they played? Bama's offense is as one dimensional as it gets, and they were able to lay 20 points on the Gators. I still think Florida is a very good team, but the SEC in general is over hyped, at least this year. If you judge a team by their body of work and their general schedule, the top two teams in my opinion is Texas and OU. Its a joke how coaches vaulted the Gators over Texas and OU in polls.
are you mother****ing ****ing me? dog**** cincinnati wins games even though they suck just long enough to help ou undeservedly go to the national championship game and just when we need them to beat a crappy hawaii team (not that we actually have a chance to pass florida, but lets just pretend) they're going to lose? i'm trying to imagine how the last 4 or 5 weeks of the college football season could have aligned more perfectly against Texas. hell, they might even give tebow another heisman now just for playing in urban meyer's offense.
I dunno man. Since I've tuned in, Cincy's looked like ass. They just got a penalty to keep their current drive alive (instead of punting from their end zone). Still 17-10 with about a minute left in the 3rd, but they're looking horrible. Crezy.
I think if Florida were playing Big XII defenses every week, they'd easily rack up points as well as (if not better than) OU. Heck, they were piling up 4-touchdown margins on average against SEC defenses. You give Tebow half the time to stand around that Bradford has, and he'll be piling up 5-6 touchdowns a game too. And then you add his short-yardage rushing ability and Harvin's ability to spread the field both rushing and as a WR ... yes, I don't see OU winning a shootout with Florida, and that's not taking anything away from OU's offense.
What makes you think that? The Big 12 was way better this year as a conference... Florida may win the NC...but they are not better than UT... DD
How can they not say the Hawaii guy didn't have possession, he caught it...made a step (which is a football move) then got blasted and fumbled. Now Hawaii gets a TD...what a joke. DD
get this - if hawaii beats cincy and drops OU's SOS, it might be the margin that sent OU to the "Big XII Championship", but we won't see it this week because of bama getting exposed and losing its first-place votes. go figure.
i hope he goes: 1. TX 2. OU (lost to TX) 3. Utah (undefeated with two wins over ranked opps) 4. USC (road loss to runner up in Pac-10) 5. PSU (road loss to unranked team) 6. FLA (home loss to unranked team)
