kevin love man 22 and 13 last night on 6-8 shooting. He seals his man off so well but freakin Westbrook would not pass him the ball. I hope collison is back soon. Westbrook just looks for his own shot and can't run the offense properly. As soon as the team figures out how to use love barring injuries I dont see how they can't be a top 4 seed this year. Espn2 is televising the game Monday night I'll be there again maybe y'all will see me!
Did yall see USC lost their home opener? Makes me feel a little better about our loss. Edit: Forgot to add.. the team that beat them is Mercer.. in the same conference as Gardner Webb. Coincidence? I think not!
Deandre Jordan is playing better than I expected. He is shooting at least 107% from the field and his presence on the court has a bigger impact than anticipated. By me anyways...
what is killing me about turgeon is how much he's limiting deandre's playing time, i mean the kid is gonne be a top 10 pick next year if not a top 5 he should be playing as many minutes as joe. his per minute avg would have him getting 20 and 16 a night
anyone else see the Aussie guy Patrick Mills pop in 37 for St Mary's v Oregon the other day, great stuff......
Well the Aggies are in the NIT championship. Their front court is way nastier than anticipated. But their guard play is even sketchier than I would have thought. Its not that Kirk, Sloan, and Roland aren't solid players. I think Sloan has NBA potential. But no guard controls the game. Louisville would beat us this time around. We lost by what 2pts to UCLA and Memphis last year? They would blow us out this time around. Overall though this team looks great. I underestimated their heart. This is a damn good group of guys.
Did you watch the last game? I thought the guard-play looked a heck of a lot better than the games earlier this year. Remember, these guys are all getting used to a new system, and I think the guard play is the thing that is going to improve most over the season. The achilles heal for this team is going to be free throw shooting. Not having DeAndre Jordan in the game for the last 8 minutes is a big blow. If he can improve that, this team is going to be great going into the tourney.
I think its pretty obvious that DeAndre can't be in the game much when the Ags are in the penalty. DeAndre has made Shaq look like Calvin Murphy from the line. In other words, Turgeon is not limiting DeAndre's time, DeAndre is.
He looks like a man among boys. Considering the season just started, he is the most unfreshman looking freshman that I can remember. He did fine but KSU was smoked by George Mason. I was impressed by how unselfish he was even though most of his teammates are scatter-brained and unreliable.
And the Aggies are complete DOMINATING Ohio State. This team looks like it can become VERY dangerous come March. We might hit a few bumps along the way with a new system, but this team could do something special if it gels at the right time.
Man... I agree! I still am not convinced we can punish a talented pressing team. But our 3 big man rotation is an absolute monster. They all rebound. Jones shoots so well. Jordan makes athletic plays. And Davis is so aggressive. And the defense! Jesus. I think our defense might have improved from last year. Wow.
Anyone catch USC vs. Memphis lastnight? Both Mayo and Rose had off-nights but those guys are explosive players that are fun to watch. Memphis has some unbelievable athletes but they were pretty bad down the stretch. They had some bad TOs and were abysmal from the charity stripe. They have a ton of talent but so far it seems like if you can keep the game close to the end, they are a very beatable team.
What do you guys think of Chase Budinger. Athletic version of JJ Redick (think taller Redick with 40+ vertical) http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Chase-Budinger-502/
Very exciting game despite the sloppiness. Do you think Vitale thinks Robinson will become a special player?
I heard that. 2 bold predictions right now: 1) Kansas State doesn't make the NCAA tournament 2) West Virginia makes the NCAA tournament and gets to the sweet 16 I feel for Beasley because he is such a special talent but other than Bill Walker (who shows up half the time), he has no help whatsoever. So teams just pack the zone on him and dare KSU to beat them from the outside. They (and this includes their coach Frank Martin) are going to have to learn how to get the ball to Beasley even when teams are packing the zone on them. They look to him and immediately chuck up a shot without trying to go back to him.
It's kind of an obscure game, but last night Texas Tech had a 42-1 run against Louisiana Tech. La Tech went 19 minutes without a field goal. Final score was 86-31
