Didn't know so many people disliked Cowherd. I'm a huge fan of his.

I used to listen to Cowherd, but grew tired of his West Coast favoritism and put-downs of the South, his tirade against John Wall, bashing of SEC football, bashing Harden and the Rockets, his arrogance, etc.

He likes to think he's cultured and sophisticated but he comes across as stuck-up and douchey.

Well he's not funny or intelligent so I'm not sure the appeal.

Dwight needs to be healthy to win the west

Just got a new fan. About to listen to this guy from here on out. Screw the other networks. If he's rocking with the nation then I'm rocking with him.

Hey maybe he sees the reality of a Loaded Bench and not having DMO and Beverly we still took the Warriors to Game 5. What would happen if the Warriors didn't have 2 key players and we were healthy????

Anyways, time will tell but the NBA will find out shortly the Rox are for real. They hate the Death Star anyways...Rox should embrace the label and do it

The overzealous and skittish writer did hit on a few obvious issues that I agree with.

    1. Houston set the NBA record for three pointers made in a single regular season last year (933). Congratulations, that’s great! Oops, I’m sorry – I failed to mentioned that they also attempted a league-high 2680 of them, translating to a 14th place 3-point percentage of 34.8%. THIRTY-FOUR POINT EIGHT PERCENT ON 2680 THREES.

I know this is the way our offense is designed but man we shoot too many threes. When we're ice cold it's very ugly but on the other hand if we're sizzling hot, it's a thing of beauty and unstoppable. Hopefully we shoot a better % this season. I don't see us shooting a lesser amount. LOL We probably break that record.

    2. Dwight should be dominating on both ends of the court. I know his post game isn't that good but when you're 3'-10' away from the basket, dude should be money. He's been in the NBA for a long time now so he should know how utilize his skills around the basket better.
Plus if Dwight would hit at least 65-70% from the foul line, he would average 20 points a game easily. But hey at this stage of his career, that might be asking too much. Especially since he's injured often these days.

34 percent from 3 is better than 50 percent from 2.

Given how I am a huge, biased Rockets fan and homer, I give credence to anyone that says the Rockets are going to win. Even if I don't like them.

His bizarre anti-John Wall attitude is enough to keep me away. He had a very stupid hot take when Wall was a rookie, tons of people called him out on it, then instead of retracting his hot take even somewhat he doubled-down and came off as even more asinine. Since then IIRC he's just continued his Wall-hate for no reason other than he doesn't want to admit that his original take was wrong.

personally I think with the addition of Marcus Thornton, Lawson getting back to spot shooting being open and an improved Beverly along with a healthy DMO our 3pt percentage should increase....especially if Ariza doesn't exhaust himself allowing him to play less minutes along with Jason Terry which should improve 3 pt efficiency all around

We can beat Cleveland, way too much speed for them plus LeBron has a bad back.

He sucks, as someone else mentioned he sounds desperate for followers. I am guessing with his switch to Fox and competing against Lebetard now, hes lost a lot of listeners.

What better way to gain some followers then by going full heal and jumping on the Rockets bandwagon after riling up their fan base the last few seasons.

I think a lot of sports journalist understand the Rockets have a fairly large fan base and we seem to have persecution complex. So say something negative about the Rockets and their fans go bananas and tweet your name and call your show, win!

I am a fan of his but his reluctance to acknowledge Aaron Rodgers was a great Qb until after he won his SB was gold and waaaay off base. Now he talks about how great Aaron is but for the longest he thought he was overrated.

Grantland Zach Lowe Picking Rockets as Biggest Threat to the Warriors:

It’s time for an annual tradition: a bunch of random predictions about the upcoming NBA season. For this to be fun, we have to find the sweet spot between bat-crap crazy and probable. Let’s all be wrong together!

    1. Houston Emerges As the Biggest Threat to Golden State in the West

There are six things to worry about with the Rockets:

    1. They don’t have much good outside shooting, though Ty Lawson should generate some clean spot-up looks for James Harden.

    2. It’s impossible to hide both Lawson and Harden on defense.

    3. Harden spent time dating a Kardashian, Lawson is dealing with an alcohol problem, and Dwight Howard is Dwight Howard. Do you trust the personalities on this team in gut-check moments?

    4. Howard’s farts could incapacitate the entire locker room before a big playoff game.

    5. Several key players, including Howard and Donatas Motiejunas, are dealing with injury. If Motiejunas or Terrence Jones is ever out long term, Houston will either have to play more small ball or slot a rookie in at backup power forward.

    6. Their defense, ranked sixth in points allowed per possession last season, may regress a hair — even if Howard plays more games. Opponents shot just 32 percent from deep against Houston last season, the lowest such mark in the league. The Rockets had a lot to do with all of those bricks, but that number will creep up.

    2015-16 NBA Preview

Everything you need to know about the coming season. But you know what? I love this team. They are freaking loaded with relentless athletes who will never stop running, flying to the rim, launching 3s, and whipping the ball up the court in transition. They are exhausting to play against. They got Lawson for free! K.J. McDaniels may be ready for more time on the wing, Clint Capela is a player, and Harden is going to make a run at MVP again.
And for all the anxiety about the shaky makeup, these guys held together during the same tense moments in which the Clippers quaked. Howard was great in the playoffs, and he has already led a team to the Finals. Why do we act as if he has accomplished nothing on the big stage?

This team should scare everyone, especially because Daryl Morey has one more trade to make. Count that as an extra prediction: Houston will make one win-now move.
