are we talking about cold...like cold cold. like turn the water all the way to the coldest setting? or are we talking about just the absence of heat. there's a difference it seems.
I would say like cold cold. Ice ice baby. Its instant stress reliever amungs other things. I've noticed I don't have problem with dry eyes anymore.
Damn....I hate it but it works. Read somewhere that it's supposed to increase your body's metabolism, so you burn energy sources faster and feel less lethargic. Anyone know if there are bad aspects associated with it though?
I happened to see an episode of Dr. Oz not to long ago and the episode was about little things you can do to every day to increase energy, stay awake, get better sleep, etc. One of the ways they said you can lose a few pounds was exactly this every morning. So, it seems there is something to this.
Been doing this for 3 days. It is especially awesome in the morning (unless you're hungry+tired) and, my favorite, right after the gym. I wonder if post-gym cold shower messes with the benefits of working out?
It can be bad for your heart if you go from working out intensely to a cold water shower immediately. The immediate, intense vasoconstriction of all of your skin blood vessels puts a huge, sudden strain on the heart trying to pump against that new resistance. In conditioned athletes its usually not an issue, but cold water showers have been known to kill elderly people whose hearts are in bad shape.
Yes...because Americans are the only Nationality to have water heaters.....and having one, definitely makes you spoiled.
The Third Form boys dorm at my first high school had only 4 showers for the whole floor, so you got used to taking cold ones.
Now that's out of the way, can we talk about the benefits of a nice warm shower? Warm showers before going to bed is probably the best thing in the world. And don't forget to drink your milk and brush your teeth before getting in bed.
Been circling this for the past few weeks. The closest I can get is splashing cold tap water on my face and head. Anyone still doing this?
Cold showers most days for me. I didn't know it was therapy until recently. I just like the way it feels.
