I miss Houston I am in Omaha and it is snowing as I type this, we are expecting 2-4 inches by tonight. The good news is that I finally broke down and bought a snow blower last night at Lowes so I am ready for it.
See, I wish we had that. The Mrs. and I are talking about moving to a colder weather city for a year or two before we have kids. My top choices are Chicago, Milwaukee or Portland.
Yeah its kind of hard to get into this so-called "Christmas spirit" when Im wearing shorts and flip flops with my A/C on high...... I need some cold weather. Rocketman - What about Denver? Great city to live in..... Snow skiing, great sports fans, lots to do....
We talked about that, too. I'd probably try Boulder before Denver though. Actually, when we talked about it, we came to the conclusion that if we were going to uproot our lives, it'd be for Santa Cruz. It's way more expensive out there, but it's not too bad if you continue to rent. Plus, I'd finally get to live next to my best friend...my sister. It's been 20 years since we've lived in the same town (not counting the three months I lived there my junior year of high school).
[Chick mode ON]I cant wait till it gets cold enough to bust out all the nice sweaters I got over the last year..[Chick mode OFF]
Boulder is nice, its very laid back. Im going next week...Denver>>>>>Boulder>>>>>>>Aspen. It should be a nice trip.
Ah, love cold weather, but if 63 degrees for a high is cold weather, then maybe I need to reconsider what "cold weather" is. I hate ice and snow, though. I don't care if it's in the 20's and 30's, but I don't want ice/snow. The temps shouldn't get above 60 in the winter!
So, has anyone up in the northern part ot Houston started to see signs of this stuff yet? I thought it was supposed to be coming through around 12:30 or 1 today....
Severe Weather To Bring Cold Temperatures Lows Expected In 40s POSTED: 11:14 am CST November 15, 2005 UPDATED: 11:43 am CST November 15, 2005 HOUSTON -- A cold front will arrive Tuesday afternoon, bringing severe weather before dropping temperatures 40 degrees in the Houston area, KPRC Local 2 reported. At 11 a.m., temperatures in Houston neared 80 degrees. By Tuesday night, the temperature will be down to the 40s, according to KPRC Local 2 meteorologist Wes Hohenstein. But before the cold weather arrives, Houstonians will have to deal with afternoon thunderstorms. "We will have some severe weather and that's what I'm worried about," Hohenstein said. "Showers in the Waco area will intensify and grow as it pushes into our area." The severe weather will arrive after 3 p.m. "When you head home tonight from work and school, the front will be on top of us by the afternoon commute," Hohenstein said. "Wind is one of my main concerns, along with heavy rain, thunder and lightning." He said the severe weather could also include some hail and tornadoes. After a high temperature in the 80s, the cold front will bring lows in the 40s by Tuesday night. "It will drop into the 60s by dinnertime, dropping into the 40s tonight," Hohenstein said. Wednesday's low temperature will be 44 degrees, with a high of 63 degrees. On Thursday, the low will dip down to 36 degrees with a high of 65. http://www.click2weather.com/weather/5330440/detail.html
It got extremely windy late this morning (not that cold yet). Still sunny, though - in fact, more so than earlier. I had the windows open in the chem. lab and had to close them because the wind came through and blew a big poster off the wall on the other side of the room. Walking across campus was... interesting. Somehow there's a lot of wind here and a big flat open area. If you're wearing a skirt, you really have to watch it. Fortunately this was one of the heavier skirts so it was less likely to fly all over the place, but I definitely had to keep at least one hand on it in case it got caught the wrong way in the wind. I'm glad to be done teaching for the day so I can change back into casual clothes. Some things everyone just doesn't need to see.
LOL.... This just in: Austin rocks. I was up there last weekend and it's just such a beautiful place. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
its raining. alert the local news so they can camera crews setting up near freeways, and interviewing people. make sure KPRC has their graphics with illeteration ready. Make sure Cynthia Hunt is wearing something sexy, and revealing. ABC, continue to make Tedd Olberg or whatever his name look like a D&D nerd. CBS, make sure Doc Frank has his makeup on. FOX, just continue to run the simpson. Check.
And you have a problemw with that? Is she still even there anymore? I haven't noticed her in sometime. Listening to the radio (610) you can hear the crackling static from the lightining. It must be close.
