Well, the people who support President Bush and his policies would certainly understand his vocabulary and his accent better..... Personally, I think they should have gone old school and booked Junior Samples from Hee-Haw, but they probably found out that he died 20 years ago.
Anytime than anyone says that democrats support or sympathize with terrorists or Saddam, it is a lie. An egregious, disgusting lie told by people more interested in winning elections than improving this country.
Anybody who wishes to see a President of the US hauled before a bunch of judges at the Hague on war crimes is really sick.
Bullshiit! If he wants to do something brave, then let him show the Muhammed cartoon his own network censored.
Well if it's censored I guess he can't. Go watch Strangers with Candy which Colbert was on. That show made fun of everything, I don't think he would have a problem with it.
Gwayenco, do not force me to issue another E-Challenge to meet me at the gym on Howard street. Your keyboard orneriness and penchant for personal insults is bordering on a NEXT LEVEL transgression from which a challenge might follow. Consider yourself on notice of the following. E-CHALLENGE RECALLED FROM REMOTE STORAGE FACILITY
Anyone who commits war crimes should answer for it. I am not saying that Bush did, nor that he should be put on trial for it. I am just saying that ANYONE, US President or not, who commits war crimes should have to answer for it.
Sorry, but that would qualify as stupid, not brave political satire, which was what I saw. Why don't you watch the whole show? If you only saw 5 minutes, how can you draw an intelligent conclusion? basso apparently watched it. Heck, if he could stand the experience, I'm sure you could. Keep D&D Civil.
I have conceded that someone could find his remarks funny. What I will not abide by is any notion that he was acting bravely. He did exactly was expected of him. He's a Bush-hater hired by a Bush-hating organization (the WHCA) to deliver a Bush-hating monologue. Nobody was going to point an AK-47 at him or send him off to a foreign prison for that.
Mark Smith, a reporter for The Associated Press who is president of the White House Correspondents' Association, acknowledges that he had not seen much of Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central before he booked him as the main entertainment for the association's annual black-tie dinner on Saturday night. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/03/a...&en=bbdf71b100b0926d&ei=5094&partner=homepage
You don't have to see much of Colbert to know what he's about, and I don't trust this guy to tell the truth anyway.
And yet I would bet that you would believe anything reported on Faux "News" without any corroboration whatsoever.
anyone who supports a president who lies us into a war with a country who never attacked nor was a threat to us, leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent women and children, authorizes and advocates torture of children, does nothing while an entire city drowns and lies about prior knowledge of the potential for leevies collapsing, gives out billions of our tax dollars in the form of bailouts and subsidies to oil and airline companies while eliminating bankruptcy protections for the people to name a few, is really sick.
Show me, in any of my posts, where I said that I wish it would happen. I wish it wouldn't happen. I also wish that we wouldn't have attacked and occupied Iraq. That being said, regardless of my wishes, I do believe it will happen, and the only person you can realistically blame for it, is George W. Bush himself. Gwayneco, it would behoove you to try to stop putting words into my mouth.
