No, but a preference for "organic" coffee that tastes like ass might make someone defensive. edit: ignore this post and read Buck's. It is funnier. | | V V
Really? I would have guessed that one's propensity for killing and eating large numbers of God's tasty creatures would rank higher.
I normally drink a cup of coffee everyday... without being addicted to it (that is, can still live without drinking coffee)... Anyone having trouble getting on their day without drinking coffee? Those that drink 4 or 5 cups everyday must have something to say...
Mrs. JB - thank you for the coffee recommendation at CM. I will try some the next time I am in Houston. If you have not already tried it- I like Starbucks French whole bean. My wife and I love coffee- living in Beaumont we sometimes drink Seaport Coffee- "between dark and medium roast"(roasted in Beaumont by the Texas coffee company) or Community cafe blend. No Maryland Club for us.....
As someone who probably drinks 6-7 cups a day (particularly when I'm at work) I thought I would conduct a quick experiment. It's 1:52pm here, and I haven't had a coffee yet. So far, so good. I don't feel any different at the moment.
Wow, 6-7 cups a day? Too much coffee is not too good for your health... anyway, I'll be interested to see how your day turn out without coffee... do keep us informed
Hey, you have to pay big coin for that … um, stuff. Some say that it if doesn’t come from the ass, it ain’t worth a … well, you know. http://www.thecoffeecritic.com/fusion3/html/kopi.shtml
Ooh, that comeback ranks right up there with "I know you are, but what am I!" Bailey, You are probably bouncing off the walls non-stop if you are drinking 6 to 7 cups of coffee a day. As for me, personally, I can't stand coffee but I have only tried it once. If I added all the sweet things that you can add, then I might like it but I would also be like Nomar, so I will pass.
I hate the fact that I am addicted to coffee, but I am. I must have my cup in the morning if I am working days, or that first cup in the afternoon if I am working nights. Caffeine rocks!
I hope everyone gets this BigRockFan reference. There's some (South American?) coffee bean that is majorly expensive. The beans are fed to some creature (I thought it was a monkey?) that then poops them out. It is quite a delicacy. And I wish I was kidding.
OK, it's update time. 4:45pm now, I finish work in an hour, and still haven't had any coffee. To be honest, I haven't wanted any either. I've probably consumed more water than I do normally (10-12 cups, as opposed to 7-8), but otherwise I don't feel very different. Manny, I've always had quite a high tolerance for things like caffeine and alcohol. Oddly enough, I drink one cup of coffee at the weekend (on Sunday morning), and no more. I'm going to spend the rest of the week caffeine-free (I only normally drink 7-Up as a soft drink), and see how I feel.
Bailey, What sort of coffee are you drinking? Its hard to believe that someone drinking coffee 6-7 cups a day can give up just like that! Or perhaps the amount of caffeine in your 6-7 cups equals 1-2 cups to the others ....
Regular filter coffee from a percolator. The brand is a Dutch one, I'll go and look to see which one this afternoon. I know it's not de-caffeinated, because there was a fuss in the office about which one we should have. I must admit it felt a bit odd this morning, and my head feels a bit woozy, but I put that down to the cold I've had since Monday. Perhaps it's the coffee.
