You guys want to trade Cam but we haven’t seen his potential yet even though I know he has his warts. We have seen Jalen for four years now. We know who he is. I’ve always wanted to trade for a shooting guard while keeping Fred because this team still needs a steady hand. I would rather trade Jalen than Cam and see what he can become.

Obviously not for a swap...But Cam is def a goner for any trade we make for an impactful player. That is law.
And the fact that Reed is a rising star g league all star after 4 games def pisses him off even more. Cam averaged like 30 in the G league. that said the attitude that made him slip in draft will get his shipped outta Houston.
Ausar seems like a pipedream, unless we gave up a lot more than just Cam. Ausar was injured so his development was a bit delayed, but now that he is back, he is on a similar trajectory as Amen was in the same number of games. I can not imagine Detroit seeing this and seeing what Amen has become, and thinking yeah, lets trade this guy. Ausar is starting for a Detroit team that is pretty good. Cam is barely a rotation player at this point. I think Ausar is being very under valued in this thread.
The people who say they know who Jalen is are the same people eating crow each month. Trading Jalen over Cam would be a huge mistake.
lol I’ve never disagreed more with a post. For one, we don’t know what we have with Jalen, but we do known he just came off a month averaging 26 pts while shooting .42 from 3. Cam is nowhere in Jalen’s league at the moment, and I’d be fine using a FVV + Cam package to trade for a major upgrade.
They also see what he has been saying to the media, in terms of his grievances about PT. The league isn't stupid, this may not be Jimmy Butler level drama but they know he wants an expanded role. Does he deserve one? Maybe, maybe not. That's really Ime's decision to make not ours. I do feel like he will be off the team sooner than anyone else just because, as other posters have suggested, it's difficult to gauge his head space, not just off the court, but also on the court. He throws his hands up every time he doesn't get a pass on the wing, he sulks and lets the play continue on defense after not getting a call and not getting back on defense, and overall in general he has bad body language when a play or call doesn't go his way. He has huge potential and I was so happy that they drafted Cam, but he has more warts than most of you Cam Only Fans care to admit. Especially considering most teams past on him during the draft because of his attitude and mental head space... which is also starting to come together now with his time here.
Cam is like Ginobli was for POP a free spirit, but ultimately very talented....he needs room to grow. DD
remember when vangundy was the DEFENSE first coach for the rockets and we could barley score 100 points? I remember because they had a McDonald’s promotion for free stuff that they had to change to hold opponents to below 80 points Caus our offense sucked that much. All I’m saying is that our offense could be way way worse with a defense first coach.
Fans value Whitmore more than other teams do. He needs more showcasing before the Rockets can get a fair return.
