Imagine a 20-hour of timeout had been called, how many hearts would have stopped beating?

JVG you have saved many lives!

How many times did they show Avery on the sidelines with that "deer in the headlights" look?

Just beautiful. Now, let's win the next one.

cuz he didnt "show" Yao always shows on the switch, which is what some of us get mad about because it leads to him picking up fouls occassionally. Hope this shows the importance of "showing" on the screen

Did anyone notice how JVG had t-mac playing the four at the end of the game?

Jon Barry, Bob Sura, and Mike James were all in the game.

I thought Avery did a pretty wily job of coaching today, with the Josh Howard on Yao move that kept them in the game in Quarter 2...of course JVG wilier, and more experienced, but I really think it's less coaching and more heart from our players; Keith Van Horn, anyone? I mean, was it only me that could smell the fear in his heart in that pitiful exchange of passes with Dirk which lead to James layup? Not just him.....Finley missed a gimme to tie it up as well. We have a better, gutsier collection of players. I think Avery is a fine coach and a great person as well as a representative for the game...I do think we have the better coach, and ultimately, the better playoff players.

I think JVG put Sura in for Bowen because Dallas was doubling off Bowen. Sura gave them another shooter, and it paid off. Sura hit that cold-blooded 3 near the end to give Houston a chance at the win.

Edit: Actually, Sura hit 2 treys in the last 4 minutes of the game.

the dallas defender was guarding him preety hard on that play. thank God Yao set that beautiful screen which freed up tmac for the game winner. it was a team effort by our two superstars.

BEST ONE, TWO PUNCH IN THE LEAGUE, NO DOUBT!!!

    Best Adjustment of the Game:

With Dallas continually applying pressure to the ball, Van Gundy took out Bowen and put in Sura.

Without that move and Sura's 3 Pointers, we wouldnt have won.

agreed. second best move of the game by Jeffy:

having McGrady bring the ball up just about everytime in the final four minutes.

I've already eaten my JVG crow pie so thats not what I'm here to do.

I thought it was great when Dallas was making their run, pressuring everywhere and the rockets were trying to figure out how to handle it. Wesley (one of our best defenders) came over to jvg and was pointing and explaining something he saw. Coach was nodding his head and listening to what his player was saying. The the rockets did a better job of busting the press and getting into the offense quicker.

Great coaching and great chemistry between everyone. JVG trust his players and they trust him.

I was watching the post game interviews on NBATV and they asked Avery about the last shot by T-Mac and he said "they FORGOT to trap him". FORGOT? Haha.

Avery's getting outcoached pretty badly. His guys need to be prepared to execute on defense way better than they have been. His trap worked for awhile, but once the Rockets adjusted there wasn't anything that worked for A.J. Poor Avery, he's a good guy and I'm sure he'll get better. The offensive sets look solid, anyway.

Where are the Dallas fans that were claiming this was an entirely new Mavs defense?
