John Lopez has been saying crap about leaving Kevin Sumlin leaving the last couple of weeks. I remember hearing him saying Sumlin is going to Arizona State a couple of weeks. When he says stuff like this, he states it's like a fact. Sumlin isn't leaving this year. He knows he has Keenum coming back next year and a lot of other key players. They also have a good non-conference schedule next year with games at UCLA and Texas Tech and homes games with Navy and Mississippi State. Lopez is a douchebag with no credible sources. I have never heard him break any story while with the Chronicle or the radio.
I never knew who this guy was before he came to 610, and I wish I never was introduced to this windbag. No matter the subject, the guy claims to have "a good friend" in the know. He comes off as so full of s**t. I don't know why I keep listening. Between him and "the General", I don't know who is more unbearable to listen to.
At least Mcclain knows what he is talking about and actually has valid sources. Lopez is just a tool, period. I'm glad Sumlin called him out ... I thought it was funny how Lopez kept trying to move the interview along and Sumlin made sure he got his point across before addressing anything else.
yeah lopez won't hesitate for a millisecond to let everyone know he's buddy-buddy with ___INSERT FAMOUS SPORTS FIGURE___ in an attempt to give him cred and/or make him seem cool. add that to the fact the he routinely talks out of his ass and that makes him a grade a dickface.
I like Sumlin and I hope he stays, but how will it look if he DOES leave this year, after taking such a defiant stand against the Lopez accusations? I really don't know why people here hate Lopez so much. Granted, I don't listen to his show or read his column, and the bbs is usually a pretty good judge of character, so I supposed he probably IS a tool.
You know that fat, obnoxious guy at the bar who has always done something better, bigger, or faster than you, laughs at his own jokes (loudly), generally has no idea what he's talking about, and does backflips better than a Chinese gymnast when you call him out on his BS? That's John Lopez.
So you've never listened to him on the air or read his work and you don't understand why people don't like him? Well, yeah that sounds about right.
Yeah he said Sumlin would be Arizona State and his cohost was like "Erickson's gonna be out you think?" It was so funny to hear Lopez respond. It was something like "Well maybe not this year or next year but eventually." I don't want to say he's a douchebag because I don't him personally. I do think his radio personality sucks though. The other day I heard him talking about his "reputation around town" regarding his views on Tracy McGrady. This BBS doesn't represent "around town" to be honest, and 790 doesn't have and never has had enough of a listener base for him to have a rep around town.
