True story: I once sent Vernon maxwell a Heineken at Sam's Boat, but for some reason he took offense to it, and at that point we almost got in a fight. I still think I would've beat his ***.

I think you upset him because he probably prefers domestic beers

The correct answer is whichever coaching position he prefers.

Maybe he thought you thought he was gay and decided to come on to him by buying him a beer?

So he went from not setting foot in Houston for over 2 decades to getting invited to a Rockets celebration to now working for the Rockets as a scout and having a home and living in Houston?

You tried to be The Vernon's friend. The Vernon declined your friendship. Shaft.hahahhaha...
    Please tell us more.
    Was he there by himself?
What did the bartender do with the beer you bought him?
Was there a awkward moment when he just gave you a mean mug?

You took one for the team bro.

I can't see it happening. He has a high basketball IQ but he was never the guy leading in the locker room or on the floor, didn't seem the type who took guys under his wings, and just has been out of basketball for so long.
